The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser FJ is now on sale in the Philippines, introducing a more compact and accessible member of the iconic Land Cruiser family. Combining off-road capability with everyday practicality, the FJ targets buyers looking for a rugged SUV that is equally at home in the city and on outdoor adventures.
Drawing inspiration from classic Land Cruiser models, the FJ features a boxy silhouette, short overhangs, a wide stance, and 245 mm of ground clearance. Functional touches such as the rear side-opening cargo door, rear-mounted spare tire, and squared-off body panels emphasize its utilitarian character while providing a solid base for customization.
Powering both the TX and VX variants is Toyota’s 2.7-liter 2TR-FE naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 166 horsepower and 245 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a part-time four-wheel-drive system that operates in rear-wheel drive during normal driving and allows drivers to engage four-wheel drive when additional traction is needed.
Like its larger siblings, the Land Cruiser FJ rides on a ladder-frame chassis, complemented by a double-wishbone front suspension and four-link rear suspension. Active Traction Control (A-TRC) also comes standard on both variants to improve grip across different road conditions.
Measuring 4,610 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, and riding on a 2,580 mm wheelbase, the FJ is more compact than the Land Cruiser Prado while retaining the commanding stance expected of the nameplate.
The entry-level TX variant comes equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, LED lighting, a 9-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, synthetic leather seats, manual seat adjustment, and physical controls for key functions, including the four-wheel-drive selector.
Stepping up to the VX adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, a larger 12.3-inch infotainment display, an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a Panoramic View Monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. The driver assistance suite includes a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beam.
The all-new Land Cruiser FJ is available in Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Ash, Attitude Black Mica, and Platinum White Pearl Mica. Prices start at ₱2,235,000 for the Land Cruiser FJ 2.7L TX A/T, while the Land Cruiser FJ 2.7L VX A/T is priced at ₱2,575,000.
