Chery PH enters affordable EV hatchback segment with new Q EV

With recent launches of affordable EV hatchbacks such as the GAC Aion UT and Geely EX2, Chery Auto Philippines has now joined the growing segment with the launch of the new Q EV, targeting buyers shopping around the ₱1-million mark.

Launched at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the Q EV is positioned as Chery’s entry point into the pure EV segment. The compact hatchback combines city-friendly dimensions with features typically found in larger and more expensive vehicles.

Power comes from a fully electric powertrain capable of delivering up to 405 km of claimed range on the NEDC cycle. The Q EV also supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in as little as 16.5 minutes.

One of its more interesting features is its rear-wheel-drive layout paired with an independent rear suspension setup, a combination also seen in the Geely EX2. Chery says the configuration helps deliver a more engaging and balanced driving experience.

Inside, the Q EV places a strong emphasis on technology and practicality. The cabin is centered around a 15.6-inch touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, while wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 50W wireless charger, and voice controls come standard.

The hatchback also offers ventilated seats, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, a front storage compartment, and dozens of storage spaces designed to make daily use more convenient.

Safety features include Level 2 driver assistance technologies and a 540-degree around-view camera system.
