I tried using 3M brand Rubbing compound to erase those watermarks sa windshiled and other windows ng AUV ko. What i did was, using a pranela (wet), i put a small amount of 3M rubbing compound, then apply it to the glass (circular motion) , at saka punas agad ng dry pranela..

    CAREFUL in using rubbing compounds...

btw, keep away from pranelas as much as possible. they can do more harm to your paint's finish.

chamois? depends on how you use it. you can either use the glide or patting technique. this is to minimize friction between the chamois & the paint (and reduces your probability of scratching it).

use a microfiber towel / terry cloth / 100% pure cotton towel instead.

Yep. Pwede ang vinegar. 'Yan gamit ko. Mild acids lang ang solusyon sa water spots, whether sa windows or sa paint. At, ang suka is a mild acid. Pero, distilled vinegar ha, dehins yung Datu Puti or Rufina.

Here's what I do to remove water spots: I wash the car as normal with my car shampoo. After rinsing, I just apply vinegar. Use a soft sponge when applying the vinegar. Let the vinegar sit for about, oh, 30 to 45 seconds then rinse. Do only one section at a time. Pag-tapos ng vinegar application, hugas uli ng kotse (shampoo and rinse). Since the vinegar would remove the wax, prepare to rewax.

kidding aside, someone emailed me a long time ago na pwede din daw softdrinks like coca cola or 7 up sa windshield. carbonated drinks contain carbonic acid, also a mild acid, or phosphoric acid (sa 7up and sprite), again a mild acid. the acid basically dissolves away any alkaline material that's deposited on the "water spot". personally, I haven't tried it yet... but an officemate of mine who tried it says it works.

Sa leading groceries may distilled vinegar: SM Hypermart, Rustans, Robinsons, etc. A few name brands are Del Monte at Heinz. Wag yung Datu Puti at Rufina kasi maraming chemicals yun.

The good thing about it, as I noticed, if you do this several times, the vinegar would sort of form a natural coat that would...resist the formation of water marks. Well, it won't eliminate them pero matagalan bago mag-form ulit.

Also, if you want to elimite top rust (kalawang na nagfo-form pa lang na dehins pa nakadikit) or tough dirt sa mufflers, use good old coca-cola.
