    Hi LACars,

I had my Innova tinted at your place last Saturday c/o Ging. Great job! 3M medium black was placed on the existing 3M magic neutral tint in the windows and rear while the windshield was untouched. Looks great! parang 3M black chrome daw said one of your installers. It takes some getting used to at night but is manageable.

My question is this: with the 3m magic neutral tint on the windshield, there are times/angles where the dashboard (i.e. radio, which i plan to replace) is still visible. Ging suggested removing the magic neutral tint and replacing it 3M light black. Will this make the dashboard not visible and yet maintain for me the great visibility of the neutral tint?

    Thanks!

Hi sir, thanks for the compliment. Your dashboard will always be seen with any tint except super black ( which we do not recommend at all for windshields ). I suggest a medium neutral black as it gives a dimensional effect. You won't be seen from the outside but could have great optical clarity viewing from the inside.

Is this medium neutral black the same as the 3M medium black? or is this a 3M magic tint that's darker than magic neutral? Thanks!

Otlums - You could try 3M, Solargard or Sungard's medium black.

what's the shade of the 3m's that has a good heat rejection? gusto ko sana yung tintless na transparent na parang wala, pero mahal. anything close dun pwede na (black-ish shade sana).

    1. almost no tint at all effect (i dont care about privacy)
    2. good heat rejection
    3. if there's nothing close to 3m and vkools transparent/colorless, ano? ok lang yung tint of black or gray na sobrang light. Malabo mata ko eh.

You can visit the 3M website for the heat rejection, light transmission and other specifications of their films. Just google it.

The site is not that user friendly but you can work with it.

    hi guys,

if anyone has spare time to reply to my query, i'd really appreciate it. i called up a car shop along Pres. Ave. in BF Parañaque today and asked for info regarding solargard tint. the guy i spoke with told me that full tint would cost 2800 with the windshield tint in one piece. if it's two-piece, it'd cost 1800. 1K difference just for that? the guy sounded sleepy so i'm not sure how reliable his answer was.

another question po: another car shop that i called up told me that they could install full tint (platinum) at a cheaper price (less than 2800). prior to this, some car shops along Pres. Ave. told me that they don't order platinum tints anymore because of negative feedback from customers. the tint badly affects vision daw. is there truth to this? the tint in question is platinum magic tint.

i hope you could advise me on this coz a lot of people who wrote on this thread usually have positive feedback on 3m, solargard, and sungard. meron din naman with platinum pero not as many.

    thanks in advance!

Try calling shops listed here, you could even ask L.A. cars located in Makati to give you a suggestion and answer your concerns. Their number is 817 8617. They have a tint room which makes the tint application dust free. Goodluck!
tnx so much for the tip sir, i appreciate it.

Platinum is pretty good if you have a good installer. As for the visibility problems, choose your shades wisely.

I've had platinum on a number of vehicles already. All with satisfactory results. It's a good film especially for its price range.

I think that would be the 3M Magic Tint Neutral.

    Sir question lang.

I'm getting my new Mazda3 Petrol Red this week and ang free na tint sa casa is Platinum.

What shade of tint do you think will look good sa red and will not hamper night visibility.

    Thanks and more power.

Hey boyz! Just had my front windshield installed with SolarGard Magic Black Neutral.

I was so freaking hesitant on having what shade to have my windshield tinted since around 3 years ago I had 3M Panther 5 (Super Black) in it from the windshield to all other windows and I was really struggling on night driving, so ended up having the windshield replaced with RikeCool clear tint (which was also good, but still would be sometimes hot since there's actually no shade in it). Unfortunately my whole front windshield was shattered last year thanks to Typhoon Milenyo. So anyway, since I had my windshield replaced, I was driving without tint on the windshield. By the way I must confess my eyesight isn't that good, so having a clear windshield was always to my benefit.

Anyway, just to cut the story short, I must say based on my experience last night, SolarGard's Magic Black Neutral is actually good! At first I was a bit scared since I felt that the windshield was a bit dark (while driving inside), but when night time came I realized my driving skills was barely impaired by the tint. Everything was still very visible despite my not so good eyesight and no HID kits :D In terms of heat rejection, I'll probably post it sometime since it was already late afternoon when I was able to drive the car around. SolarGard's tints are advertised on one of the banners to have 79% heat rejection.

When viewed from the outside, I would say the driver and passenger would still be visible at around 20%, and sometimes not, depending on the angle and lighting conditions. For me that's pretty fine since if I wasn't visible inside at all that would just give hassle and suspicion to law enforcement especially in checkpoints. Just to refresh you guys, I still have 3M Panther 5 (Super Black) on all other windows.

Just to sum everything up, I had my tint installed on LA Cars' Tint Room in Makati. I was quite surprised that Amrit still recognized me and my car from my previous visits there dating a few years back already. Cost was P1,500 for the whole front windshield. The only sad thing was the 7% charge for paying in credit card, since I was aware that DTI had already ordered policies on extra charges when paying in credit cards, however I didn't contest about it anymore. but other than that, everything was fine. :D Sorry for the lengthy post, just wanted to share my experience to those who may find the information useful. By the way, special thanks to my mom who overlooked the job while I went out to attend class. :D

P3400 for the 3M medium black for the rear and side windows, P1600 for the Solarguard medium neutral black 1 piece for the windshield. Pinatong sa existing 3M magic neutral tint. Ganda ng effect, parang 3M black chrome daw sa sides.

Pwede pa atang mas mura as package (windshield plus all windows), kaya lang pinatira ko yung windshield after 1 week kasi. Tiningnan ko muna kung okay sa gabi. Nakakapanibago sa simula dahil hindi ako sanay pero on the second night okay na ako, ok pa rin ang visibility.

Just had my ride tinted today. Got my Sorento already tinted with 3M black chrome bc-35 or 20 from the casa. Wondered why it's already tinted when the customer has an option for the free car tint.

Anyway, I wanted a darker tint, the bc-10. So I went to an auto store and they recommend to just install the bc-10 to the existing tint. Night came and it's kinda hard for me to see people walking at the back of my car. Do you guys think if the tint is purely bc-10, it would somehow be clearer?

Wasn't able to put a tint on my windshield since they can't do a 1-piece job on it.
