Depende po sa color ng B pillars and windshield seal. Kung black pillars mas bagay po ang darker shade. Kung body colored B pillars magic tints could be fine also. :D

Malas naman , dapat pala nung first tint palang Dark na agad. So the only remedy is patint ng panibago and tapon na yung luma.

Ayun sira at ayaw gumana.

NSK sa Benavidez... kay United Bearings yan. Mayaman naman sila eh, kaya nila yan, hehehe.

    Hello.

Can anyone recommend a Good Car Tint brand?

of course, 3M is well known in the market for durability...but is there any brand which is better or co-equal but cheaper than 3M?

Often I hear, Solar Guard/Solar Gard ; Classis, etc.

Can anyone refer me to sites where I can get indepth knowledge of car tint?

And if possible, please state the price.

    My preference is Magic Tint.

What kind of tint should I put on a new car? I would prefer a tint that will not hinder vision at night... but at the same time, keep nosy outsiders from peeking into the car.

At the car dealership where we just bought a new car, the totally uninterested salesman mumbled something about how that the 3M brands were great. It was available in about 4 shades, and it was supposedly scratch resistant. However, I'm not sure if these 3M tints are bad for night visibility.

Another brand was the Platinum tint. It was supposedly a "magic" tint that offers good night visibility and scratch resitance. I don't know if 3M has the same features... but the bored salesman claims the 3Ms are better, and I honestly don't know why.

Any advice or suggestions? What brand, type, and shade of tint should we use? I'd prefer to keep the cost under P5000. Right now, I'm looking at getting either 3M or Platinum tint with a shade level of Neutral Dark (second lightest). But that's completely arbitrary since I've never seen the tint on an actual car. I would prefer a shade that'll keep people from looking inside the car (just in case I'm picking my nose!), yet at the same time not hinder night visibility much.

3M is good. Even their darkest shades still offer outstanding visibility at night.

What is your vehicle sir. Php5K is already big money for a sedan. Even a wagon such as my Pajero only costs Php 4.5K to tint and that includes a 1-piece film for the whole windshield.

I have not used Platinum but I have tried other brands such as SolarGard, Polaroid, and even the brandless ones. But for my needs, 3M really gives the best value for money. Good heat rejection and scratch resistant with clear visibility pa. Resists fading over time also.

3M and Platinum are both good brands. Choose the tint shade that suits you as any of the two bands will do. Be careful of those who would install your tints. Sometimes they may cut through the rear defogger wires (if equipped) rendering them unsuble. Goodluck.

ok, from what I gather... 3M Tints offer good night visibility. The car salesman specifically told me that the "Platinum Magic" tint had an advantage over 3M because Platinum offered good night visibility. Does that mean the salesman was wrong? We were bothering him with questions late afternoon on October 31, when half his mind was likey already on holiday.

So if I go for 3M tint...

What shade offers a good balance between night visibility and privacy inside the vehicle? I would prefer outsiders see nothing at all inside the car, but not at the cost of hampering night vision.

I'm leaning towards the second lightest shade ("Dark Neutral"), but that's only because the bored salesman claimed it was their most popular shade. I haven't actually seen how light (or dark) that shade really is. The salesman was too uninterested to actually bother showing us what the tint would look like in a car. All he said was that it was rare to find people install a shade darker than the 2nd lightest shade.

most, if not all, Branded window tint films are scratch resistant. I have the Johnsons Window Tint Platinum series. The dakrness also differs with your interior color. If you have a charcoal or black interior, then it will be darker compared to a car with beige interior given they have the same tint percentage. Also, the overall quality of the tint depends on the installer itself. If you can have a Lifetime Warranty from the installer, great.

3M tints rarely significantly hamper vision. I have tried even their darkest shade.

    bmdj,

Ang tawag diyan ay MANYAK TINT. hehehehe

Btw, the industry norm for tinting is LIGHT BODY COLOR = DARK WINDOW FILM COLOR (near black)

DARK BODY COLOR = LIGHTER WINDOW FILM COLOR (near silver)

Ibagay niyo na lang po sa body color ng sasakyan niyo. Kapag 3M naman po malinaw pa din ang driver visibility. Huwag lang siguro yung panther black series. Baka po madiliman kayo.

I had 3M install in my City. Panther black siguro yun -- it isn't magic tint eh. It came in 3 shades. I had all the side windows, and the front visor tinted with the darkest shade. My rear windshield had the middle shade, and the rest of my front windshield had the lightest shade. Night vision is excellent! And pwede na siyang "MANYAK TINT", in the words of master OTEP.

Ewan kung fake yung kinabit sa akin, pero it only cost me P2,800 for the entire car. Pero hindi siya 1-piece sa windshields. May extra pag 1-piece, and I'm afraid it might be more prone to bubbles.

I always get my aftermarket tsikot stuff sa Auto Centro at Ali Mall Cubao. My tints came from Sun-X. I like them kasi they're honest. The owner will not give you bull$hit just to make a sale. They'll actually tell you what they think is best.

Sa tint, ambisyon ko pa rin yung V-Cool 70. But V-Cool is solely for heat/radiation protection only, and will not address your privacy needs. Pony at Auto Centro is a authorized dealer and they have trained V-Cool installers. Ang mahal lang talaga. They quoted me P18,000+ for an AUV.

platic, I suggest you use 3M with the medium shade. It's just right.
