next year due for replacement na yung hp supreme 16 ko, i might change to lighter shade of quantum series naman. nadidiliman na ako sa 16, i'll stick to that shade if ever i upgraded my headlights to retrofit HID.

Had my windshield installed ng clear, forgot the code pero 60 ung sabi ni jane. So far satisfied sa heat rejection.

yung solargard xg series ano yun? yun yung nasa windshield ng isang car namin ngayon. xg 35. balak ko yung isang car naman, xg 5 all around then xg 35 sa front. faded na yung solargard ko dati from LA cars eh. 3 years in, faded na.

ako din umabot lang ng 4 yrs yung solargard, nagfade din hindi na sya kasing black/dark noong bago pa lang sya, sa LA din ako nagpakabit XG series din. ang pinalit ko sa XG yung Quantum series para maiba naman. sa santolan na ako nagpakabit.

Mukhang fake solargard or ordinary gila tint lang linagay sa inyo ng LA cars. Known mandaraya sa tint si LA cars. Good thing you're going somewehre else for new tint!

just had my crv tinted at solar gard alabang, hp charcoal 6 for the rear and sides, hp charcoal 13 for driver and front passenger and hp charcoal 22 on windshield :D mga 11 am ako nakarating dun and finished by 2 pm. no damage on my defoggers and malinis pagkakagawa. look for miss jane, maayos sya kausap. got mine for 5.8k ang installer ay sina gary and jack. next is yung spacewagon ko, plan ko is 6 on rear,sides and driver and passenger tapos 22 sa windshield :D

Had mine done sa Solarguard in San Juan near Concept One. The shade is clear from the inside then medyo light gray from the outside. No issues with GPS and e pass 70% heat rejection and prices start at 2.2K for the windshield

Tried the combination of HP supreme 4 sides and HP supreme 16 windshield. 3M tint user and decided to try solar gard due to the impression I got that it has good heat rejection and visibility despite being dark. Vkool OEM not fully black color outside kaya di yun pinili ko.

Super dilim ng HP supreme 4 sa gabi. Nahirapan ako. And I am used to driving cars with 3M fx-st 5 at sides, fx-st 20 front also combination of cs5 sides and cs 20 front. It also has this obvious brownish hue inside even on a bright sunny day and headlights of cars behind become really dim and appear amber, signal lights halos reddish na. Dito ako medyo nagsisi kasi mukhang yung mga fake na titanium tint na natry ko dati.

Yung supreme 16 might be dark for others but i find it okay. Pwede ito siguro sa sides paired with hp supreme 22 front para sa mga malabo mata or ayaw ng super dark.

On a sunny day, may angles pa rin na kita sa loob. Especially yung dashboard. Pero mabilis lumamig aircon. At comfortable back passengers.

Yung 3M tint shades also blend better. For example cs5 sides cs20 front. Di masyado na-strain yung eyes kasi di malayo yung increment ng lightness/darkness ng windhield vs sides. Itong combination ng hp supreme 4 and 16, malayo. That is why I spend more time looking at the side mirrors. Nagdodouble check pa minsan especially when lane changing.


Verdict: sana nag 3M na lang ako. Hehe.

The hp supreme kasi is the nearest equivalent to cs/fxst 5. May hp supreme 10 pero baka kita na sa loob. Hehe.

baka yung hp supreme hindi maganda yung shade? planning to get the xg series kasi. yun yung pinang-blend ko sa car ko with 3m cs 5 sa sides. yung nilagay ko sa windshield ko is solargard xg 35 (lightest shade)

anyway, humingi ako ng little cutout samples of solargard xg 5 and solargard xg 20 sa pony's banawe. then applied it to a glass pane just to see the color. and from my samples, hindi magka-shade yung xg 5 and xg 20. yung xg 5 (super black) may pagka-greenish hue siya. then yung xg 20 (medium black) bluish hue naman. wondering bakit ganun siya. so I started imagining it na nakakabit sa car, so when looking at the sides and back, greenish hue then to the front naman bluish? weird.

then I went to another store and asked for samples naman ng 3m cs 5 and cs 20. yung 3m naman parang thinner yung film nya as compared to solargard. pero for both cs 5 (super black) and cs 20 (medium black) same na bluish hue sila. as what ek2jayvee said, yung increments ng shade ng 3m mas hindi halata.

so what now? hahaha planning to have my ride tinted tomorrow na.

Thanks to this thread, I'm now a SolarGard customer.

Too early to judge SolarGard quality and longevity, but I can say that SolarGard Santolan has the best tinting service I've tried so far (and I've tried several over the past 13 years). They ensure quality, and will not rush the installation (downside is longer install time). They took the time and care to remove my rear panels for an uncut film (butas lang for the 3 screws).



We have different priorities for getting tint. Mine was maximum heat rejection with maximum road visibility. Privacy was secondary for me. So I went for their older line SolarGard Quantum (aka magic / one-way). It isn't mirror type, like in the old days, so hindi naman siya nakaka-abala sa ibang motorista (bad trip mag reflect nang sun light yung naka mirror tint noon, nakaka-bwisit). I got the Magic Neutral Light (37) for front and rear windshield, Magic Black Medium (28) for the front driver and passenger (for better side view mirror visibility), and Magic Super Black (DLN 10) for the remaining 4 rear side windows.

I'm very satisfied with installation quality, but is under observation throughout the curing period. I hope the heat rejection is also as good as it is on paper. The aircon cooling will soon tell.

Malas lang ako kasi undermanned sila kahapon. So only 1 person did all my tinting (as opposed to the usual 3 man team). So instead of a 2-hour install, it became 4 hours. But the shop is very comfortable, and with wifi.

Very reasonable for the 6k price tag.

mga bro ano kaya maganda sa wind sheild tint na parang mirror type.. yung hindi kita sa loob pero maliwanag padin from inside na mataas ang heat rejection, mag drive narin kasi si wifey for safety purposes...

tnx sir.. gusto ko lang kasi mag clear tint sa front windshield,starex ko.. napalitan na kasi ang windshield.. agila glass lang pinalit ko.. ang orig kasi 11k..ang gusto ko lang sa orig. 75% transparency na cya. .kaya parang naka tint na konti.. pero ang agila glass totallyl clear..

Nagpakabit na ako solargard tint frontwindshield 2k damage... HP 16 ang spec, clueless talaga ako ano yan, medyo madilim pero kaya naman tiisin hehe.. Problem now is plan ko bumili garmin nuvi gps.. Question is may nabasa ako anti gps na mga tint, yung pinalagay ko ba is good with the gps po?

the number after the tint name is the VLT value. HP means High Performance pero may karugtong pa dapat yan na series name. example, HP Quantum 37, HP Charcoal 43, HP Supreme 30, etc.

What is VLT?
VLT is Visible Light Transmission. VLT is the amount of visible light that passes directly through filmed glass. The darker the tint, the lower the visible light transmitted.

Ano ba recommended VLT for Windshield?
30% and above. in other countries (example UK) 70% ang nasa batas nila. they are really concern about road safety. in the Philippines, we don't have such law kaya anything goes.
