A: Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER) is the percentage of the total solar energy that is rejected. TSER includes visible light, infrared radiation and ultraviolet energy. The higher the percentage, the higher the percentage of solar energy deflected. Most tinting shops use Infra Red Rejection (IRR) as a guide to the level of heat rejection. However, IRR only covers a fraction of TSER. Internationally, TSER is used as a guide as it is a more accurate way of measuring heat rejection.

    TSER
    V-Kool OEM 5 = 46%
    SolarGard HP Charcoal 6 = 58%

My personal comparison of TSER (Total Solar Energy Rejected) data among brands. Do take it with a grain of salt.

Tint series that belong to same tier will provide comparable (but not exact) heat rejection performance.

Tint series that belong to higher tier provides higher performance but generally costs more.

Consider also the warranty length. 5-7 years warranty are pretty common now.

    Tier 1:
    V-Kool VK and X series
    Nano-Tech Clear Sky series
Huper Optik X3 Ceramic, Nano-Ceramic and Clear Ceramic series
    SolarGard LX and Silver series
    3M CR series
Llumar Ultra Performance, SpectraSelect and Windshield series

    Tier 2:
    V-Kool K series
Nano-Tech VIP, Charcoal and Reflective series
Huper Optik Klassisch, Klassich Black and Shield series
    SolarGard HP and Sterling series
    3M BC and CS series
    Platinum MNSR series
Llumar Deluxe and High Performance series

    Tier 3:
    V-Kool OEM series
    SolarGard Non-HP series
    3M FX series
    Platinum MX and MBSR series
    Llumar Standard and Premium series
Sir red_one, I beg to differ on your claim that V-Kool OEM 05's TSER is 46%. I'm not in anyway connected with V-Kool but I'm one of their satisfied clients. The TSER of OEM 05 is 70% as shown in their Facebook photo:

You got the OEM 05's TSER mixed up with OEM 35's TSER, it's the latter that has a 46% TSER.

Question, how would you know na V-kool yung tints installed sa car? does it have any markings like sa 3M na madali makita?

Got it as part of freebies kasi when we bought the car and nagrereklamo dad ko mainit daw, baka raw iba ang pinalagay ng SA

Mine came with a brownish bronze small "Protected by V-Kool" sticker that Chevy Otis put on the side windows in the same style as mga car alarm stickers. It also came with a I'm V-Kool decal

Had my car installed with K37 on windshield and K28 wrap around this afternoon. First impressions - maliwanag pa rin kahit gabi. One of my concerns kasi is visibility during night time and when raining. Hindi ko pa matry heat reduction kasi maulan. Wala ako napansin na marks bukod dun sa sticker na kinabit nila.

Thanks numbah5. From the inside di naman siguro masyado madilim diba?

Yun 3M ST05 kasi sobrang dilim HAHA. Pangit. Baka sa West Ave ako magpakabit pag ayoko na talaga yung Llumar ko sa iX35. Ang mahal ng V-Kool dito sa main branch malapit sa akin. Tapos 1K ang charge sa removal ng old tint.

Let's just say that I don't have to open the windows whenever I have to make a u-turn with reverse on unlighted streets. Whereas on my sister's 3M CS 5 equipped Jazz and my SolarGard HP Titanium 6 equipped Montero Sport, I have to open the windows whenever I have to make a u-turn with reverse on unlighted streets.

So as per the chart, OEM 5 has better TSER than other VKool lines, but perhaps the most obvious aspect - heat rejection - is where the more expensive other series excel.

As per my experience, even if the tint series has a higher TSER than the others, it still feels hot inside if I park my car under the sun. V-Kool kahit OEM series lang mas maganda heat rejection kesa SolarGard at 3M

Well, if what VKool posted about their OEM series is true, it seems I will fall in line for it. And with your actual experience with VKool, I'm all the more eager to try it out.

Tried to park my car outside my apartment unit without its cover last Sunday. So far so good. Very noticeable yun difference nung temperature inside as compared before na wala pa akong tint. Kung dati napakainit, Ngayon naman warm siya pero once you opened the door lamig din agad. Yun lang mejo may bubbles pa yun saken. Have to wait at most two weeks before mawala lalo na ngayon at maulan.

newbie lang po sa tsikot :D last week saturday and sunday, i'm looking for some feedbacks about Vkool Tint. then i saw this forum in google then try to find out what are the feedbacks about Vkool. then i found out this is Good for our tsikots :D then today i decided to go in Vkool Paco Branch to look what shade is okay with me. after talking to there salesperson in an hour finally decided to avail there PROMO 13,500 VK series and wrap around OEM 05. i Chose oem05 because i saw there oem5 in actual. i mean naka install talaga sa kotse. then the owner of the car told me to go inside then closed the door to see and observe kung gaano kaliwanag ang view sa labas kapag nasa loob ng auto :D ayun mas maliwanag siya sa super dark ng 3m. that's why i'm good with the OEM 05. even the car owner told me sa gabi hindi soya hirap unlike sa old tint niya super dark 3m :D so guys vkool na :D ---- share lang po :D
