mas mabilis ba kung via sctex or Jose Abad Santos Ave.?

    thanks in advance!

IF the road works between San Fernando and Lubao are all done then its faster to take OG Road - JASA as against SCTEX (i dont know lang about the traffic conditions in Lubao during the day).

At night, i could take it from San Narciso in Zambales to San Fernando via Subic and JASA in an hour flat.

    Resurrect ko lang 'to.

We're planning to go to Subic this weekend. My usual route is Dau-SCTEX but I've been planning to try JASA and enter SCTEX at Dinalupihan (tipid na din sa toll hehehe). Anybody tried JASA recently?

Edit: looks like the locals are still ranting about the roadworks http://www.sunstar.com.ph/pampanga/l...ic-jams-213849

there's a diversion road na lalagpasan mo yung lubao market so it makes the travel faster. i passed by last sept 30 2011, road was ok. it's shorter as compared to passing by sctex. travel time difference around 15min longer on jasa pagnasabayan mo yung traffic, but on unholy hours masmabilis kaysa sctex

Went there last week, SCTEX papunta Jose Abad pauwi. Traffic sa may San Fernando due road works. I suggest SCTEX ka na.

Went SCTEX back and forth. Mostly succeeded in keeping below 100 for an "eco run". Hit 140 going downhill on one clear stretch :D

Sudden rains last Sunday evening produced 3 pileups all on the southbound fast lane near the Bocaue exit (7-vehicle, 3-vehicle, then 4-vehicle).

Future expressway pero based on the legend after 2030 pa daw hehe.

They're constructing now a flyover in the San Fernando area (Lazatin Blvd - OG road). There's a back road (old road) i pass to avoid that if need be.

    resurrect ko lang..
planning to go to mariveles bataan by car from Subic. Will be having a day tour in Subic then punta na ng mariveles bataan.
    1. What is the most convenient road to travel to Mariveles at late afternoon to evening? how many hours kaya?
    2. Preferably yung safe, and more travelers pass through para may kasabay din sa road. and if possible, yung may establishments along the way.
    2. Any other tips you can give will be appreciated as this will be my first time to travel there.
    Thanks

Quickest and safest way is to go back to SCTEX, exit at Dinalupihan, then turn right and take Roman Highway. Go straight for 80 km and you'll find yourself in Mariveles.

Roughly 2 hrs ang travel time from Subic.

Kung hindi ka sa Subic magdidinner, your best bet is Balanga, about 25 km from the Dinalupihan exit of SCTEX. This is Bataan's capital and has all the fastfood you want. Yun nga lang, ang along the highway lang ay Jollibee and Shakey's. Yung ibang fastfood like McDo and KFC nasa loob ng bayan so papasok ka pa.

Best restaurant for me in Subic is Texas Joe's (ribs and american food), then Xtremely Xpresso (cafe, pizza, pasta) , then kung gusto mo legit Japanese food sa Sakura masarap.

^ if you plan to go directly sa Mariveles, but if you want to see some places in Bataan, you can try Morong-Bagac-Mariveles route.

as posted in the subic thread, very useful ang inputs ni Jut sa directions. as for the reco sa food, kumain kami sa Texas Joe for lunch (na naging merienda sa tagal ng service). dito na kami nabadtrip. masarap naman ang food, courteous ang crew, nice place, unfortunately they took more than an hour to serve our orders. nung tinanong ko ilang hours usually ang waiting time, sinabi 20-30 mins. not sure kung nakalimutan lang lutuin agad or it was really a busy day for them but noticed there was another table na pissed off na rin. so pagdating ng food, nalipasan na ang mga kasama ko, ako na lang umubos. hehe. shrugged it off na lang after para di masira ang buong araw (enough with the rant and OT).

BTT: around 5pm na kami umalis ng Subic. nakarating sa Bataan ng 7pm, pero di pa ata mariveles yun. basta yung may mga refineries na nasusunog. around 8 na ata kami nakarating sa mariveles kasi naghahanapan pa kami ng Ninong ko. dinner at HapChan then called it a day.

The next day, kwentuhan with relatives then visit Mt. Samat. Ito na ang experience of a lifetime namin. Bataan is a very nice place (except the narrow roads sa centro ng Mariveles). Gandang ganda kami sa view while traveling. Masarap na ang kwentuhan, maganda pa ang mga overlooking scenery, not to mention the history lessons (Bataan ang pinakahuling sumuko...thus the joke if you know what i mean). I was lucky to maximize the experience of a passenger. hehe. Very steep and curved.

Pabalik ng Manila ang daan namin ay sa Roman Highway pa rin then OG road pero passed by Lubao Bypass para icheck lang ang route then San Fernando NLEX southbound.

Was definitely a nice experience in Bataan. Will definitely return there. Maybe next time, we'll include the Nuclear power plant visit and the beaches. Maybe corregidor too.

Sorry bro for your inconvenience with Texas Joe's. Usually mabilis naman, I usually get my food within 10-15 min. Pag maraming order matagal na yung 20 min. Baka marami lang tao nun? Usually the owner's there din, an old American guy.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed Bataan. When you go back, try to visit Las Casas in Bagac, as well as the beaches in Morong. [emoji4]

Dinalupihan is part of Bataan. What town of Bataan are you referring to?
