    Here are the official holidays in the Philippines for the year 2011. Under Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, there is no more “holiday economics,” meaning, dates of the holidays are not anymore moved to the nearest Monday or Friday.

    (based on Proclamation No. 84 signed by Pres. Noynoy Aquino)
    A. Regular Holidays – 2011

    • New Year’s Day – January 1 (Saturday)
    • Araw ng Kagitingan – April 9 (Saturday)
    • Maundy Thursday / Good Friday – April 21 / 22 (Thursday / Friday)
    • Labor Day – May 1 (Sunday)
    • Independence Day – June 12 (Sunday)
    • National Heroes Day – August 29 (Monday)
    • Christmas Day – December 25 (Sunday)
    • Rizal Day – December 30 (Friday)
    B. Special (non-working) holidays – 2011

    • Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Sunday)
    • All Saints’ Day – November 1 (Tuesday)
    • New Year’s Eve – December 31 (Saturday)
    • 150th Anniversary of birth of Jose Rizal – June 20 (Monday)
    - May 2, 2011 is NOT a holiday, according to Palace spokesperson Edwin Lacierda.

    C. Others
    • 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution anniversary - February 25 (Friday) – No classes only for schools
    • Eid’l Fit’r (Last Day of Ramadan) and Eid’l Adha (Islam Feast of Sacrifice) – to be announced later, based on the Islamic calendar

    Ang pangit ng dates ng holidays ngayong 2011. Karamihan saturday/sunday. OK na kasi yung holiday economics ni GMA pinalitan pa ng presidente nyo.

    actually, dati wala naman yan eh.
    kaso nung panahon ni pandak, dineclare na rin yung ramadhan at hajj holidays sa pinas, para sa ating mga kapatid na muslim.
