    Hi, guys.

Planning a road trip to Bicol this first week of April. Medyo madaming tanong para sa isang first timer:

    - Easiest/safest route from Manila to BIcol (preferably Tabaco)?
    - Saan po magandang mag stop over (kainan/rest) coming from Manila? Magisa po akong magdadrive with wifey and 3 kids.
    - Magstay kami for 7 days, meron po ba kayong itinerary?
    - Tourist spots to visit?
    - Things to remember?

    Thanks!

Day 1: Travel to Naga, have dinner along Magsaysay Ave (Bob Marlin, Chili Peppers and Wok are my favorites), overnight stay at Avenue Hotel.

Day 2: Travel to Caramoan (land and boat trip), overnight at Caramoan (Tugawe and Gota are good resorts, there are other cheaper options too)

Day 3: Return from Caramoan, check out the deer farm in Tigaon, travel to Legaspi, have dinner at Four Seasons resto, overnight stay at Venezia or The Oriental.

Day 4: Travel to Donsol in the morning, whaleshark watching, return to Legaspi in the afternoon for Mayon ATV ride and Cagsawa sight-seeing

Day 5: Travel to Subic Beach in Sorsogon, your choice if you want to overnight (no hotels, just cheap huts where you grill your own food, but with aircon) or just go back to Legaspi

Day 6: Trip back home from Legaspi/Sorsogon, you can drop by Naga again for lunch

Bicol is a beautiful region to visit. 😀

Has someone recently travelled from/to Sorsogon after typhoon Nona? Hows the road condition?

    Thanks

I tried to waze nung Christmas holiday going back to Manila, wala din sa routes option yung Quezon Eco-Tourism road. Maganda lang sana to have plan B na alternate route, malala kasi talaga ang Easter Sunday traffic from Pagbilao all the way to SLEX na. Thanks remzam.

The last time we went to Bicol, traffic was very long approaching Lopez then Gumaca Quezon. Nakakainis kasi that is for no apparent reason.

Though marami din sagabal na tricycle jeepney from Ibaan to San Juan. It is much quicker and less stressful than Maharlika Hway. All well paved road na din and meron pa nawidened din.

so nakadaan ka na pala dyan. although I think, mapalagyan ni congressman ng ilaw kapag gabi.

last Thursday was a horrendous day traveling south (we went the old route). umalis na kami ng Manila ng past 3am, ang haba ng pila sa tollway sa SLEX, tapos ang haba ng oras namin sa trapik sa may Alaminos (blame those vehicles counterflowing too, kaya walang nakadaan na mga sasakyan on the opposite side..) then I anticipated na magiging trapik sa may San Pablo, Tiaong, Candelaria and Sariaya, so I opted to pass through Laguna via Calauan to Majayjay to Lucban.

Should you plan to take this route coming from Manila, the fastest way will be Calamba-> Los Banos -> Calauang -> Nagcarlan -> Liliw-> Majayjay -> Lucban-> Lucena. Though a bit longer trek but technically it's faster & continues moving rather than the unpredictable Maharlika Hiway of Alaminos, San Pablo & Tiaong.

I explored the route via Eco-tourism road, no traffic compared to the usual road to bicol. Via Rosario Batangas.

Nice to know na pwede nga to as alternate. Don't want to risk dumaan na madilim, may kasama kasi baby.

Is this route totally passable na from Lucena to Ibaan of well pave road or is there still any on-going road works ?

I think even a Bicol route frm Manila the less stressful route will still be the Ibaan Startoll exit then up to that new Eco route. The hiway in Laguna could as well be unpredictable as Maharlika Hway. A bit way longer nga lang but easy hiway driving. Sa new Eco tourism route not too many obstruction na tricycle.

Wow that was a long way reroute😕 Yup I always use that road now going to Lucena much much oks than Maharlika Hway though a bit longer route frm MNL. One of causes of big traffic near Alaminos/Sto Tomas area are the exit from Padre Pio Shrine

    Hi, guys.

^That is lot of place to see! How many days do you need to cover those, including travel time? Might plan to do it as well after summer.

^ Brakish water of San Miguel Bay, those jellies spawn from summer till the Ber months. Better with open Pacific waters but Ber motnhs will be Amihan(NE Monsoon) rough seas, strong currents in that region. Many resorts in the area and the road is acceptable(with some road re-blocking at Goa-Tigaon).
