Clutch, preasure plate so I assume this a manual tranny if not, this may sounds like the torque converter if the problem is only on the start up. Anyway, another possible problem too are could be the fuel filter is clogged, weak fuel pump or restricted catalytic converter. Have your good mechanic check those...rule of thumb, go with the cheapest first.
