    Hi Guys,

    I'm new with A/T cars... I'm driving a Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 S.E.G. everyday to work... however, I'm having a delay response every morning when shifting to D (about 3 or 4 seconds) before my car runs... but after that, it works fine all day... can anyone help me on this??? pls...

    I'm also looking to modify my transmission to make it faster (I want to make it run as fast as possible)... what are modifications that I need to do???

    before you run off every morning, warm up your engine first. check your transmission fluid regularly.

    i don't think you can modify a/t transmissions to make it run / respond faster. mabagal talaga response ng a/t, hindi mo pwede pilitin/ stress ang a/t to respond like a m/t.

    kailangan maingat ka sa shifting kung hindi sira na agad transmission mo and minsan pati engine support.

    paano pong maingat sa shifting??? I usually just shift to D and then N pag traffic or stoplight... regarding engine support, what will be the effect pag nasira ung engine support?

    like pag shift ka from D to R, hwag diretso pasok sa R, daan muna sa N kasi mastress yun tranny. ok lang yun D to N

    a brandnew transmission would cost you around 400k

    if nasira engine support mo, may kalampag/vibration/noise sa unahan everytime you accelerate and break or any sudden change in direction. made of plastic lang kasi yun engine support. the weight goes to your tires, parang pakiramdam mo napuputol na yun axle. your tire threads will wear off faster and the list goes on and on sa lahat ng matatamaan.

    oh i see... wala pa naman kalampag... may naririnig lang ako sir na konting noise (tunog ng pasara ng pinto pag horror movies) pag nagbrebreak... pero tahimik naman sa pag accelerate and turn...

    napansin ko din kaninang umaga, parang ang tagal nya mag shift ng gears... have you guys experienced this??? thanks!!!

    Sometimes, using the wrong ATF does that. At worst, using the wrong ATF type will reduce the life of the A/T components.

    may suggestion ba kayo kung anong best ATF na gamitin??? I'm thinking of a car tune up one of these days tapos Royal Purple oil sa engine pero di ko pa alam kung anong ATF eh.... thanks!!!

    siguro yun noise na naririnig mo sa panels. plastic ba interior panels? same din with our GE maingay yun mga plastic panels pag dumaan ka sa matagtag or sa humps.

    you mean matagal response ng gear? sa ATF yun. usually sa casa kami lagi nagpapaservice kaya sila na yun bahala sa ATF na ginagamit. btw boss babae po ako.

    ay, sorry po mam... wahahaha... my bad...

    sana nga sa ATF lang... nung huling nagpa service kasi ako, pumunta lang ung mekaniko ng servitek sa amin... dun pinalitan ung ATF ko... dad ko lang bumili ng ATF from Caltex Gas Station so hindi ko alam kung ano ung nilagay... hehehe... I'll try na ipaservice ung car ko sa weekend...

    another thing, bakit umiinit ung sa ilalim ng shifting knob? dun sa area ng tranny... ganun ba talaga un??? thanks!!!

    i agree. sa casa kasi ilalagay nila is yun according to their standards. kaya minsan mas maganda parin magpaservice sa casa kasi nasusunod yun protocol ng service.

    dati naman with our other car, i had a problem with the response on R. as in minsan ayaw kumagat ng gear. then dinala namin sa casa, naubos na pala yun "lifetime supply of smg fluid"

    baka nga bro... abnoy dad ko eh... wahahaha...

    dati kasi, ayaw ng kumagat na umandar pag naka D.... eh siunce newbie ako sa cars, di ko alam sira... 1 year na sa akin ung kotse... tapos nung pinatingin ko, nakita nila ung ATF eh super dumi daw... as in brown mud na ung kulay... hehehe... so binuksan nila tapos nakita nila sa filter na buo buo na ung nakalagay... after palitan, ayun umandar na ng maayos for a month tapos humihina na naman hatak ngayon... ayun... kaya nag helpline na ako sa inyo... wahahaha!!! siguro nga hindi maayos ung ATF na binili ng dad ko... thanks sa mga inputs...

    Hi to all,

    Need help din po.. My car have same problems.. delay response pg cold start.. at eto pa..pag shift ko sa R ok naman response nya pero lakas vibration. Btw, 93 corolla un car ko. I replaced atf last October 2010. Ok pa naman level at color nya. What could possibly is the problem? Newly replaced din nga pla all engine and transmission supports. TIA.

    kung toyota AT car nyo used Toyota ATF Type T-IV

    kung honda AT car nyo used Honda ATF Z1

    kung resing resing kayo RP Fully Syn. on engine at RP Max ATF on AT tranny

    bumili ako ng Top 1 na ATF last week (Dexron III)... i'll try to have my ATF replaced tomorrow and will let you guys know kung anong results... according kasi sa Manual nung kotse, Dexron III ung need hanapin so binili ko ung pinaka ok sa Handyman na ATF... my bad nga kasi di ko pa alam si Royal Purple ATF nun eh...

    pero yun nga, I'll let you guys know kung ok sya...

    by the way Chawap, we have the same problem...

    just want to share a similar problem and what was done to fix it.

    Problem: delay during cold start. may 10-15 seconds delay kapag nilagay sa D. so ang ginawa ko, pinapainit ko muna ang makina ng 2-3 minutes. umokey siya, until one time, kahit na more than 10 minutes nang mainit yung makina, ayaw namang umatras (pero nakakaabante). this was even after mapalitan ng ATF 2 months ago. so I decided the next day na dalhin sa transmission specialist yung sasakyan.

    Solution: di ko nakita exactly kung anong ginawa since kumain ako nung nirrepair nila, pero nakita ko initially na dinrain nila yung ATF (since relatively bago siya, at weekends lang naman ginagamit ang sasakyan). nung nagtanong ako, sinabi na bumili sila ng isang litro ng gasolina tapos yun ang pinatakbo sa transmission. then ibinalik nila yung lumang ATF, then nag top-up na lang uli ng one liter. the day after, meron pa ring delay. pero after another day, nawala na yung sakit.

    ^Dapat palitan mo uli ATF mo. May naiwan na gasolina yan sa loob ng tranny that will cause degradation ng ATF mo.

    Thank you for the warning ... will avoid that shop ... your Automatic Transmission will soon self destruct unless you change and flush it with the proper ATF ...
