    mga sirs, may masisira kaya sa m/t navara ko kung accicdentally ko na start car in 3rd gear, nag strong jerk yung car frontwards, please comment, thanks. i put it on 3rd gear for brake back up while in park.

    likem entioned wala naman. pero basta lagi mo lang tatandaan na bago mo i-start ang engine. makesure na nasa neutral ang kambyo, and to be double sure if you forget the first one, always step on the cluth before starting.

    only damage this could cause is if you are parked facing a wall, then this happens "bam!". i learned this the hard way when i was still new to driving. bent front bumper, grille, plate number and cracked head and fog lights.

    why on the 3rd gear?
    I always thought that it should either be on the 1st or reverse gear...

    Para hindi umabante ng malakas pag na start ng naka kambyo

    Kidding aside TS, dapat nasa 1st or reverse para pag matarik ang kinalalagyan mo hindi kaya igalaw ng gravity ung sasakyan mo. first gear + handbrake.

    there won't be any problem on starting it. but what if you started it and your car was facing on a wall? edi "BUMP!"

    Step on the clutch when starting an M/T vehicle. It does not matter whether you're in neutral or in any gear position.

    "Removes" the load from the starter.... In some vehicles,- a safety feature.....

    Our project in college years ago,- car won't start unless you're in neutral...

    siguradong newbie driver ka TS. kung alam mo ang jumpstart, hindi mo ito tatanungin. anyway, basics sa lahat ng basics ito ng driving, always check kung nasa neutral ang kambyo.

    why do forums succeed and what keeps people hang around is because of all the information we get from our fellow tsikoteers. newbie or not, we still continue to learn from each other.
    imo, even the most experienced driver (who has lots to share) still has a room for improvement left for themselves.

    transmissions are designed to accept "other forms of abuse" aside from the designed function of simply transmitting power.... it is much safer to engage in 1st gear (aside from the parking brakes) while parked especially on inclines.
