It could be just one part like the pressure plate or clustch disk. However, a common/recommended practice if you have not replaced any part is to change the pressure plate, release bearing and clutch disk in one sitting para isa na lang yung gastos for labor on bringing down the clutch... Thats if that is the problem (which usually is with sliding/dragging clutches, kung hindi na makuha sa adjustmen). More or less these parts will need replacement somewhere down the road due to wear and tear.

Just before you do any tinkering with the clutch adjustments, remember to put a mark where its setting was. You could adjust, but it will just put more burden on your flywheel. May tendency na sumabit yung rivets ng clutch disc sa flywheel and further damage it.

ssaloon, malamang you have leakage in the system. often times its the secondary master of the clutch. have it checked very soon.

Pinasok na yan ng tubig, magkakaroon ng "hard spots" ang flywheel, which has no effect on its performance. Mahihirapan lang ang machine shop pag papakinisin nyo next time. Check your transmission fluids, pag naging kulay kape na may gatas palit agad. Water contaminated oil na yan.

shet...buti na lang nabasa ko toh...

Nangyari sakin nung ondoy eh nangamoy sunog yung clutch habang naka-lubog kotse sa baha. I'm running on 2nd gear tas alalay pa sa clutch which I realized later na mali pala yun.

Not to worry, pinaka mahal na siguro damage nyan change tranny oils. Next time, if possible don't depress clutch while it is still wet or submerged, to avoid any other part damage.

ungas, isn't it common advise to rev the engine while car is submerged? so water does not enter tail pipe and to avoid stalling? then definitely one will depress clutch. so surely one will depress th clutch pedal. what's the proper thing to do?

drive in the lowest gear possible (or maybe in low-range) so you dont need to depress the clutch pedal. you could shift gears without using the clutch assuming you can match the revs exactly, but that's bound to cause more harm than good for most people. you can shift into neutral without clutching relatively safely.

fundy::: On some vehicles, there is no need to rev it high, normal engine rpm can prevent water sipping in your tail pipe and avoid stalling. Like splerdu explained, drive it in your lowest gear, let the vehicle crawl. At a stand point or heavy traffic scenario, there is no need to stay close the vehicle you're following. Minimizing clutch use, and sometimes it could help if you raise the rpm by just stepping on the gas pedal.
