Replace 4 speed tranny of 2.0 engine with 4AT of 1.6 or 5AT of 2.0

its the safer option of the two since the vehicle was offered with that transmission unlike the 5AT. though the ratios seems to be better on the 5at though if my napkin math is correct (pretty much 1.6's AT's shorter gearing for 1-4 but with the 5th being the same or taller than the 2.0 4th gear).

when i had my altis 1.6's 4AT fixed some years ago,
it cost me 22K.

i do not know how much a surplus trans would have cost, back then,
but at least, i was reasonably sure what i was getting when i had mine fixed.

Yes doc. Advantage nito kung mapinpoint yung talagang problema at magaling yung mekaniko na gagawa. Karamihan kasi ayaw mag overhaul, gusto yung baklas-kabit buong assembly

alas, in my senior years now, i do not out-of-town anymore.
but i regularly drive to laguna, a round trip of 90 km or so, via slex. it is a short trip only.

Still Not bad. That distance driven on a regular basis is no joke. It just goes to show that there's life for an a/t tranny after a major hiccup.

Mas okay nga sana kung sa AT specialist madala, para maayos mabuti gamit repair kit.

Sa surplus sugal din kasi.
