By the way the Grade Logic ones <---- they do really know when to hold and when to down and up shift. You should try one.

One has to get used to driving an automatic transmission to maximize it's capability. A manual transmission will have more power and save more fuel but the point of having an automatic transmission is convenience, it goes along with airconditioning and power steering. If one really wants to save fuel then do not use air conditioner and have your power steering removed.

    Hi guys!
    newbie here.
just got across this fun site 2 days ago.

    i drive an invecs2 lancer.
i rarely use the semi-manual/auto gear (katamaran).
my question is, would i be saving more gas using it than driving fully auto?

nope. Just put in the D and overdrive on. To maximize milage, just keep a light foot on the gas pedal.

For me M/T pa rin although i drive an automatic. My observation lng is they are almost the same in acceleration basta ung car in motion na, pero kung galing from a stand still position malaki talaga advantage ng M/T.

Also i think that A/T uses more gas because its idle is around 1000rpm minimum unlike M/T which is ok at around 700rpm.

i might disagree on this, mas mabilis ang arangkada ng A/T kesa M/T. pero mas lamang naman ang M/T when overtaking.

A/Ts idle is at 900rpm when aircon is ON. 800 if off.

If only there were locally available A/T versions of GEN II 4d56 Pajeros...

But there were none, so tiyaga na muna with the manual.

nakakaboring for me. siguro pag nagkapamilya na lang ako.
    so m/t is my vote.

    guys,

OT lang po. pag nag-drive ka ba ng A/T kailangan ang license mo e me A/T Restrictions din (4 ata yun). 2 - is for M/T 4500 kgs or less.

    many thanks,

    ~noelt.

"vehicles less than 4500kgs" so it means na mapa "m/t" or "a/t" ok ka........

the "redline" is the engine's maximum safe RPM point. Its the limit how fast you can run the engine. If you exceed that point, the engine will start to break parts. Manufacturers have made safety systems into modern engines to prevent you from exceeding that limit.

May problem kaya yun?
