have the pcm scanned for diagnostic trouble codes (dtc's) and record. with battery disconnected, disconnect the wires leading to and coming out of the automatic transmission. once the terminals are exposed, spray wd 40 on them and let drip. to protect the problem from recurring, protect the wire connector with dielectric grease or vaseline to make them waterproof
