Manual gear stiffness

Ive noticed some stiffness when i change gears especially if im on the road for like an hour already. But sometimes its really soft when its raining or if weather is cold. What could be the problem? 1997 Corolla gli 1.6 here.

At the transaxle end of the shifter cables, there are two quadrant bellcranks, each cable end have a square bushing. These bushings dry up over time. Relubricate with multipurpose grease.

Same rin po ba if mahirap mag gear sa 1st gear lang? The 2nd to 5th to R swabe naman

Have you replaced your tranny oil? What viscosity? Sounds like you need a tranny oil change (with the correct grade).

Case in point, Classic Mercedes Benz manual transmissions specify ATF (go ahead, google it .. ..). If the mechanic servicing it is clueless, then loads up on ordinary hypoid gear oil, the owner of the car will experience "maganit" shifting when first driving the car in the morning. As the transmission heats up and the oil thins out, normal shifting is experienced.

In your case, the tranny oil maybe good when cold, but thins way out when it heats up, thus you experiencing stiffness.

Good pm. Tanong lang ako ho ako ng subok na shop cavite area, taga imus po ako. Gusto ko sana ipacheck at ipaayos kung anong sira sa clutch/transmission ng sasakyan ko, ang ganit(mahigpit) tapakan ng clutch/hard shifting especially 1st gear, kapag reverse dahil nga din siguro ang ganit tapakan ng clutch hindi ko gaanong natatapakan minsan kaya tumutunog/nabibitin pag kagat sa reverse. Last major pms 45k km ko was this year march, hindi natingnan yung clutch/tranny dahil hindi ko din naipacheck(1st time sa casa/walang pang alam.)

Suzuki Dzire 2013 mt po sir salamat sa feedback. Medyo nagamit kasi namin yung sasakyan sa pagaaral ng gf ko nung nakuha namin on its 2nd yr. Wala pa akong alam sa sasakyan kaya hindi ko alam bakit tumigas yung clutch and naghahard shifting. Dinala ko naman sa casa netong march pero hindi naentertain yung concern ko siguro hindi ko din masyado naiaddress, pms lang talaga nagawa.

Salamat sa feedback sir. Sa Aguinaldo highway ba itong Petron na ito, malapit sa Puregold? If slave cluth cylinder/Repair kit replacement only nga po yung case, mga magkano kaya aabutin nito?

Buong cylinder slave di na need ng repair kit nasa 500 + labor 200. and it only takes 10 minutes. Yun ang Petron next is Puregold.

Hi mga boss, yung sa akin po naman ay pag nagbabawas ako ng gear tumutunog lagi kahit sobrang tapak ko na sa clutch. sabi po kasi bka daw kulang lng ako sa tapak. thanks po... 1st gen kia sportage po sasakyan ko.

Same experience here. Matigas ipasok sa 1st at 2nd gear, the rest okay naman. I had it serviced weeks ago sa casa, nagpapalit ako ng --- Manual Tranny Fluid (Correct grade as per manual), Clutch Release Bearing and Pilot Bearing. Lumambot yung clutch pedal, pero may time na mahirap ipasok yung kambya sa 1st at 2nd gears. Minsan hindi lang matigas, ayaw talaga pumasok parang may nakabara so ibabalik ko muna sa neutral bago ipasok ulit or tatapakan ko ulit yung clutch pedal.

Any ideas po about this mga boss? Btw, the vehicle is 2008 Hilux M/T 4WD. Thanks po in advance mga boss!
