    some of my questions:
    1. Yung jerking issue po ba sa automatic/cvt models lng nangyayari? Pag manual transmission ba walang ganito?

    2. How about sa Vtec model?

    Thanks in advance
I'd stay away from the CVT of this model. I sold my 2004 iDSI City because of the problematic CVT tranny. Starting 2008, it was no longer bearable because of the frequent jerks and I was advised by the CASA that it'll completely breakdown soon. While it was maintained by the CASA and they used the correct ATF, the frequency in changing the ATF also matters. Di pa kasi uso yung maintenance using months.. mileage lang yung basis and it takes me more than 9mos to reach 5k intervals. Btw, a brand new CVT transmission will cost 300k. I sold the car immediately for 200k in 2010.

The CVT broke because you are using ATF in it.

until today, i am still confused at why the AT (actually, CVT) issue occured. manufacturer says it was because owner used the wrong fluid and/or the wrong pms intervals, while owner says the thing's design was flawed...
MT models are ok. they have no transmission issues.
i do not know if these models have vtec. but for ordinary daily use, i do not feel non-vtec-ness is an issue.
Thanks. I have seen some 2008 models with vtec engines 1.5L. Anyway I'm planning to buy the manual transmission...

From what i heard this was a design issue. That is why Honda went back to a typical torque converter automatic on the next generation. (GE, GM)

Of course Honda will never admit this. Hehehe. But it seems they have sorted out the issue because the current generation is now back on CVT.

The 2nd gen Honda City idsi uses the 1.3L engine, while the VTEc engine model uses the 1.5L but both uses the same CVT transmission and hence both have the same common jerking problem if it appears.
if the owner is meticulous in maintaining the car then the jerking might not appear, Honda mechanics suggested replacing the CVT fluid every 20tkm instead of manual booklets recommended 40tkm. always be sure to do a flushing and cleaning of the CVT every 20tkm.

the M/T model of this unit is a better option, less costly maintenance.

Ang ikli ng interval ha? Could this be due to the quality of the Honda CVT oil? Thermal breakdown related kaya?

Not sure about the quality or thermal breakdown, but sabi sa akin due to the heavy traffic and stop and go daw.
umabot naman yung honda jazz CVT ko ng almost 100tkm without any major jerking problems.

we'd hardly think honda will admit to poor product engineering and/or design, when it has another "plausible" explanation.

i think the caveat is, "if the product has an history of issues, it is prudent to stay away from it".

Isa pang problema ko is when you release the gas pedal at any speed, ang bilis mag decelerate parang naka engine brake although the rpm stays at 1k. And i can hear a whistling noise.

22k pa ang mileage ko. Never pa na replace ang CVT-F

what should i do mga pare? Replace muna CVT-F? I've tried resetting the CVT. I did the reset procedures but still no avail.

So what should I do

sorry buhayin ko lang uli. time for CVT fluid change yun 2009 jazz gd 1.5 vtec ni pinsan. awa ng panahon ok pa yun cvt 136000 kms. ask ko lang ang tamang fluid CVT-F ba or HCF2? wala kasi nang manual nun binili

also consensus sana would you be comfortable using hyundai xteer cvt rated HCF2/z1 if it were your own car? tiwala naman ako sa xteer sa cvt hindi hehe.

genuine honda hcf is 2.5k hyundai xteer is 1.5k eh medyo penny pinching din.

    thanks sa sasagot.

    Confused. Wasn't the 2009 a GE Jazz w/ A/T, not CVT?[emoji848]
