Help !!! Rebuild automatic transmission

HELP!!! i have a toyota land cruiser full time 4WD.pinagawa ko AT kasi weak sa reverse at ang 3rd gear or overdrive is late mag shift.sbi ng mngagawa is need to be rebuild.then after ma rebuild or overhaul nawala Drive 2nd and 3rd gear.pero lumakas reverse nya.low gear lang nagana and pag nag shift sa 2nd gear parang nag eengine break..sbi nya bili na lang daw kami ng surplus na matic...anu po mga oppinion nyo regarding my case.may na miss ba sa pag rerebuild??? almost nka 4 na babana transmission.and wala pa rin direction..

anu po ang point.why nyo tanung kung malinis ung pagawaan? nag karoon ako ng idea'' d kaya sa valve body sa main solenoid ang problem??? anu sa tingin nyo???

Sorry to say, AT are NOT easily repairable, not even in AT-heavy countries like the US do they recommend AT refurbishing as the hydraulic nature of AT systems are really, really complex and a slight variance in hydraulic pressure within its hundreds of chambers are next to impossible to do it right. Even if there are shops that can do it, the cost in the US for refurbishing AT will probably be not worth it.

sir, sorry pero may simpleng correction lang po. dito sa US kayang kaya i-rebuilt ang mga AT transmissions (American, Japanese and European) kaya sobrang dami ng mga Transmission Shops dito. Transmission shops out here that can re-build AT & MT trannies. and they re-built it within factory specs, kaya minsan you cant even tell if its re-built or not. ika nga dito sa US, para ka naring Doctor pag mahusay kang mag re-build ng Transmissions (Auto or Manual).. thats why Tranny re-builds dont come cheap. usually it costs $1200-$1800 for a "BASIC" re-build. high performance re-build costs $2,000-$3,000 (or more) parts & labor only.

anywayz, back to the topic. malamang masama ang pag gawa ng transmission ng Land Cruiser. I would suggest getting a surplus tranny (thats if wala talagang mahusay na tranny shops in your area) and have them install it for free.. with labor warranty!

The difference between the mechanics there and in the US is here in the US the information is readily accessible, while there it takes some research to find the right information. Training is another matter too! And if you took the car to a shop that is not specialized to your particular needs, mahihirapan lang sila and they will simply do guess work. If you take it to a shop that knows the insides of your car mechanicals, mabilis lang yan and you'll save on labor due to the experience and knowledge, plus mahusay pagkagawa.

Take it to a recommended shop. Somebody will mention reputable shops here that can handle that job. Di lang basta basta saan dinadala yan. Land Cruiser pa!

anywayz, in your situation mas mabuti na mag maghanap na kayo ng mas reputable na surplus transmission shops. then ipakabit niyo nalang sa ibang shop. kung tiga Pilipinas lang ako sir, tinulungan na kita!

I agree, allow me to rephrase, then... Even with the abundance of AT repair shops in the US, repairing ATs are costly expenses and unless your car still has relative value after the repair, most will opt not to get it repaired... If you drive a 2nd hand car that has a residual value of around 3-5K left, medyo pointless na to repair din.

Anyway, back to the LC, surplus may be the better solution, i sincerely doubt there are any shops in the Phil that'll do things the right way with AT repair as it requires substantial hardware investment...

that's stupid advice. sana kung di nila kaya gawin in the 1st place di ka na pinagastos and bumili ka na ng surplus tranny in the 1st place.
