I'm old school. I've been a stick shift guy my entire life. But most of the cars/SUVs coming out now are either automatic or using "tiptronic" or triptronic transmission?
I really would prefer to buy a manual brand new vehicle... but with the changing times, I guess I have to be flexible.
I hate automatics...I simply will not buy one. I would rather buy a 2nd hand manual tha buy a brand new automatic. I don't really care about traffic. I'd still prefer stick shift.
But this tiptronic transmission technology is intriguing me. So, my question is: How close is the tiptronic transmission in replicating the feeling of a stick shift transmission? i.e. can you actually have control of the engine similar to manual shifting? Is it more automatic than manual? etc.
I was so sad to find out that the Maza 3 and 6 only come in tiptronic. But if this technology turns out to be similar in feel to having a stick shift, then I may opt to buy a car/SUV with this technology.
