honda city 1.3S
honda city 1.5V
honda jazz 1.3S
mitsubishi lancer 1.6 i think is cvt
the lancer na 1.6 po and 1.8 is cvt. pero for the 1.6 na base model is not cvt.
I've had quite a few stick shift cars, they're great if you don't have to deal with a lot of traffic. My current cars tranny (auto/tiptronic) is okay. Wifes car has a cvt (nissan murano). Lots of power but gas mileage is not that great. I test drove an Audi A3 with a DSG a couple weeks back and that is probably the best transmission right now.Beats manual and auto.
Pinakakalaban natin sa M/T is the need to replace the clutch after a number of years or miles. Badtrip dito is wala pang way para mapagawa na lang yung parts kaysa palit ng palit.
So far, SMG and DSG are beginning to bridge the gap between M/T performance and A/T convenience. These innovative gearboxes already perform the same, if not even better, than their stickshift counterparts. For example, the Volkswagen Golf GTi DSG accelerates to 60 mph .3 second quicker than the manual.
Perhaps the cost of building such transmissions is still a problem, which is why they haven't found their way in economy cars. I guess CVT is the best answer so far.
i'd go for matic...convenient sa traffic lalo na kung pagod ka sa trabaho...., sa hanging/incline, sa singitan, sa manuevering during parking advantage rin...,..yun nga lang mas magastos sa gaso.
CVT is "best"... but the issue is durability. There's a reason why it's not used with higher power engines
i'd say it's a question of when a cvt tranny capable of high-power applications will be cheap.Originally Posted by Psylocke

e ung latest murano its a CVT v-6, so as new 4-door skyline (basta may bagong executive sedan ng JDM nissan)....pero you got a point..
no 4g63t mated to cvt of the MX.
no SR20DET/SR20VET mated to a cvt..and so on...
diba may jazz cvt fitted with turbo?nakabasa ako nun dito ata sa forum..or sa kabilang forum... buti kinaya ng cvt nun ung turbo charged engine...
kinda odd....the hubby likes matic and the wifey likes manual....
me leans over the manual...
Get the matic. Altis' matic is very nice (1.8). I cant say this car is a guzzler, it's in fact more economical than my manual cars. And it's a lot-lot more economical than the A/T Civic.
I'm recommending the 1.8 Altis as its tranny has the super ECT mode. It's like changing the car's personality when on.
when i was looking around for a new car, isa ang altis 1.8 with ECT ang ikinonsider ko but I end up buying an A/T SuV instead. Paano ba mag function ang super ECT mode nito? "It's like changing the car's personality when on" How's this so?Originally Posted by an0nim0us
My decision is final...Altis matic. Toyota Dagupan center is close to our area and the quality service as far as i know is excellent.Originally Posted by an0nim0us

Been driving AT for 4 years now. Always on D lang. Never pa kinailangan mag manual to lower gears. Depende rin siguro sa capability ng car mo.

Thanks!
I guess malaking factor na ang capability ng car. it's a 97 Lancer Matic.
[OT] - May times mahina na talaga hatak nya pataas kahit i-lower gear as in gapang. Pero may times naman kaya naman kahit may passengers pa ha. Any thoughts?
