Nagloloko tranny ng 05 Mazda 3 2.0R ko and as per mechanic need to change the tranny.

Ang problema wala makuha na same type ng tranny. Ang available lang ay 4 speed tranny from the 1.6 model or 5 speed tranny from I think 06 and up model.

we did this before... 90's Toyota FX (MT to AT)
90's Corolla (AT to MT) and (4MT to 5MT)

90's Lancer (singkit) to Hyundai Stellar 6MT

Pero when I was looking at the possibility of converting our Adventure to A/T - may mga nagsabing hindi sya as straight forward as Toyota's 2C and 2E (computer box issues)

not sure kung paano computer box ng Mazda... pero how much is the tranny ba kasama labor?

if wala ka naman talagang choice... my Lancer to Hyundai tranny conversion worked naman.

If wikipedia and protegefaq site is accurate then it is likely the 4AT transmission for the 1.6 has the same ratios but a shorter final drive(they made a variation with different ratios but it is purportedly paired with the 1.5 engine or found in 2014+ vehicles). There is also the possibility that mazda PH used the same 4AT transmission(or atleast final drive ratio) for both 1.6/2.0 vehicles.

With this info, mas ok na yung 4AT from 1.6 ang kunin. Tama ba?

    Salamat ng marami

Hindi na po kaya mag repair kit ang lumang 4AT?
Or siguro mas mura ang surplus kesa mag overhaul ng 4AT?

when i had my altis 1.6's 4AT fixed some years ago,
    it cost me 22K.

i do not know how much a surplus trans would have cost, back then,
but at least, i was reasonably sure what i was getting when i had mine fixed.

its the safer option of the two since the vehicle was offered with that transmission unlike the 5AT. though the ratios seems to be better on the 5at though if my napkin math is correct (pretty much 1.6's AT's shorter gearing for 1-4 but with the 5th being the same or taller than the 2.0 4th gear).

Isang option yung repair kit sir. Problema lang wala assurance na maayos yung problem. Mas mapapamahal kasi sayang yung parts, ulit yung labor, baklas-kabit ulit tranny which takes almost a day.

While pag surplus tranny, buong assembly na. Pag hindi ok yung nakabit, papalitan ng shop yung tranny for free. And depending sa shop/mechanic, free din yung labor (yung iba half the orig fee). Mas mura in the long run
