Best ATF for high mileage automatic transmission?

car: civic esi 93 (automatic transmission)

problem: travelling from high speed (around 90 kph) then braking gradually to low speed (around 30 kph) as the traffic slows down, the car has difficulty accelerating once the traffic speeds up. RPM increases but the car does not accelerate accordingly. the feeling is as follows: feels like slipping clutch disc. also feels like the A/T did not downshift.

before, this happens only after driving for hours but i experience it now after only a few minutes of driving.

anyway, i plan to change ATF first to see if it will improve the transmission.

what ATF brands available locally can you recommend? any suggested additives etc.

don't spend muna on super expensive atf kung di ka sure na it will work. we use castrol dextron 3 in the shop and it is moderately priced naman so trying it out might help. kung ayaw parin after changing atf then try to look for a surplus tranny na.

magkano ba ang surplus tranny automatic ng 93 esi?

kinda tight sa budget kasi kakaasyos lang ng power steering (sa wakas) and lapit na lumabas si baby :D

nway, kung mahal yung tranny convince ko na alng si misis na kumuha ng mas malaking sasakyan. kahit 2nd hand basta mas bagong.

bro one factor dyan is the fluid your using. It only means that probably sunod na fluid mo ATF. kya ngayon in just minutes of driving eh ramdam mo na yung diff. before the fluid is not protecting the gears na kya ganyan change fluid agad to protect the gears and ma maintain mo pa tranny.

recommend ko use high quality ATF fluids that can transfer and disipate heat efficiently yan pinakaproblem ng AT, init (heat).

put extra oil coolers... kung ATF, pinaka mahal na mabibili mo are the fully synthetics:

mobil-1 ATF and motul ATF-1.....

To give you an idea on prices: Petron ATF is about 170, Total ATF 175, Castrol about 230, per liter.

Mobil 1 and Motul full synth ATF over 600 per liter.

Always use Honda fluid for honda cars. Ok lang engine oil and coolant brake fluid. for transmission and power steering use Honda exclusively to avoid expensive repairs.

Always use Honda fluid for honda cars. Ok lang engine oil and coolant brake fluid. for transmission and power steering use Honda exclusively to avoid expensive repairs.

Happened to me

yes, it happened to my FD before. I used a non-honda fluid on the power steering. It leaked. Honda told me it was the cause (i forgot now exactly why but it had something to do to with the chemical components of the fluid i used) and they quoted me an astronomical amount for replacing the hoses and other parts.

brothers ito po yun.. yung 2008 swift automatic.. pag naka aircon po siya at NAKA DRIVE pag inapakan ko lang yung brake kumakadyot po siya... pero pag tumakbo ok naman siya.. pag naka brake lang talaga kumakadyot siya.. 2 mekaniko natanonggan ko, yung isa sabi sa transmission daw yung isa naman palitan daw ng igition coil.. please please help po?? ano kaya reason or sira nito? bothered kasi ako.. please help po...

kumakadyot po ba or nanginginig kapag idle or low speed? usually ignition coil kapag parang kinakapos yung makina.. eventually mag misfire to the point na baka mag stall ang makina. tranny kapag may problema sa shifting..

Yun po bos kumakadyot pag naka brake at drive.. Parang kinakapos.. Ganyan tlaga.. At nangingnig konti pag idle.. Para kelangan na din palitan ng engine support..

guys i'm not sure where to post this. My car is having a reddish fluid leak sa sahig ng garahe namin.

I just got a 2001 A/T civic dimension last sunday, pinacheck ko sa mechanic ko sa petron after ko mabili yung car. using a lifter chineck nya yung ilalim. nakita nya na kakapalit lang daw ng oil pan. tapos may mga residue na oil sa labas. All is working fine except for this leak which i found out yesterday morning. I checked my ATF and Powersteering fluid level. okay pa naman. Any inputs before i bring this to a mechanic? Thanks in advance!

Ganito rin yung sa akin katulad kay TS. Tumataas RPM ko pero hirap umarangkada pero once mapaabot mo na ng 60kph ayos na hatak. Pinacheck ko sabi hindi raw makahinga so may sinundot sila tapos medyo okay na siya, mas mahatak. Pero minsan ganon pa rin, hirap umarangkada from 20-40kph. Base sa nabasa ko dito baka sa ATF ko ilang taon na rin di ko napapalitan.
