may drain plug din ang a/t tranny, it's like changing oil you have to drain it. may two measurement levels ang atf measuring stick: one is cold and the other one is hot. yung cold level is measured when the engine is stopped for quite sometime so the atf is settled on the bottom. then run it for about 10-15 minutes and see the hot level.
what you have to check sa a/t:
    1. burnt smell and color of atf
    2. look for metal particles sa drained atf
    3. check the temperature if rising abnormally. defective a/t transmission emits extreme heat if nagmetal to metal na.
    4. of course ayaw ng humila

Automatic transmission torque converters must also be drained properly, they have their own drain aside from the transmission pan. It's important that this be drained so that the transmission will receive fresh ATF completely.

most torque converters do not have drain plugs na now... kaya you need either an atf exchanger or you need to pull down the tranny if you really wanna replace all the atf.
