meron ba nito? pwede kaya ung sakin? galant matic 96? kasi medyo late ang shifting nya minsan saka minsan parang may jerk.. kaso di naman kalakasan ung jerk saka minsan lang tlga.. mga magkano kaya aabutin kung magpapa overhaul ako ng transmission?
^^^ Yup, there is such a thing as an AT overhaul. Marami ng threads dito, pero, i-weigh mo muna ang pros and cons. Most would go for a surplus AT rather than overhauling an AT.
Main problem kasi is that there are few shops here specializing in AT overhaul, and those that do, may mga nakakatakot na experiences. Minimum cost siguro for an overhaul is around 30k, tapos 3 - 6 months lang ang warranty (compared to 15-20k for surplus, inclusive of labor).
Have you changed or checked the fluid already? If not have it flushed and changed before doing the overhaul as it may just need to be serviced. Normally when an AT goes reverse is the first one to go as it's the gear used the least that's according to the AT specialist who rebuilt the tranny on my BMW. You can buy an overhaul kit and have a AT specialist rebuild it for you that way you know that all the parts are new.
*viepink. When were the last time have your transmission service?
Since your car old transmission fluid has been there so long then RESIDUE or CRUD has built up on the parts, have your transmission flush, filter change to get rid of the Residue which could have prevented transmission break down.
Fresh transmission fluid is full of detergent to help cleaned your transmission as it moved. Ideally, you must replaced a transmission fluid every 15,000 miles to prevent costly repair. Transmission is one of the most neglected parts of the car when it comes to service. Frequent service is a must. Remember, cleaner ENGINE and TRANSMISSION last longer.
To give you an idea, a complete overhaul of an auto tranny for a Merc W124 would cost around 40 to 50 thou, that's why PMS is a cheaper and better alternative. I guess on the average daily driven car, once a year for change ATF and filter is a good practice.
