So I got into a minor accident with a Hyundai H100 tonight at McKinley road. My car is a Mistubishi Montero. The damage is a simple scratch (no dents). Long story short, we had to acquire a police report in the Market Market police station as a requirement for the H100's insurance. Mine doesn't have any insurance anymore. It was a hassle but we needed to go through it. The thing that I can't get over with is the fact that the two policemen there said they had to confiscate both our license as we have an automatic violation (as mandated by Taguig City's ordinance bullcrap) of P2000 w/ seminar. So we were both amazed because halatang "namemera" lang. I pleaded and haggled until they agreed at P500. This is really bothersome because I've a friend who got in an accident in BGC earlier this year, went to the same police station, and was never tagged with any sort of violation.

Why did this happen and what can I do with this? Can I file a formal complaint in LTO to investigate this? Or what's the correct process so that I can get my P500 back?

That's probably the Taguig Police that you dealt with?

Based on my experience (and other friends), BGC traffic police NEVER accepts bribes.

Well, if the police in the Market Market station is also the "Taguig police" then yes.

What do you mean "mmda lang hindi LGU" bro?

It doesn't make sense!

re: editing, depende sa browser at pag over prescribed period yun post, di mo talaga ma-edit

Ung mga ibang clickable buttons all over the place sila and distorted.

Hindi ako nagrereklamo sayo bro, I just want to understand.

So yung police report ginawa lang talaga based sa salaysay ng both parties. Kung hindi lang naman dahil sa insurance nung isang car, hindi naman kami aabot pa sa police station to get a police report e.

Wala, walang resibo yung 500 so nagmukhang under the table na nga yun. Pero ang question dito is bakit may violation in the first place?

The traffic enforcers even mentioned that if we decide to get a police report we will be given violation tickets. Di lang kami naniwala dahil nangyari na samin dati to and wala namang nangyaring violation. Like I said, meron akong friend na three times ng nagkaroon ng aksident na minor na parang ganyan, all instances nagobstruct ng traffic (most often than not naman sa gitna ng kalsada ang mga ganitong minor accidents e) and walang violation na pinatong sa kanya kapag kumuha ng police report.

This is why I decided to powst in the forums. I want to know if you've already experienced this first hand.
