Hope there's no existing thread on this (i've done 6 searches already) I don't know if this belongs to the Thumbs up headquarters, so I leave it to the mods to decide.

Here it goes...

There's a new text service provided by LTO/Stradcom to verify authenticity and status of a motor vehicle or driver's license holder.

For Vehicle verification:
Text: LICENSE PLATE <license plate number> (no spaces) and send to 2600 P 2.50 per text. You will receive in about 20 seconds the Make, Model, Year, Color and will know if there's an existing apprehension or LTO alarm.

For Driver's license information:
Text: LTO LICENSE <license number> (no spaces/dash) and send to 2600 P 2.50 per text. In 20 seconds or so, you will receive information regading license validity, existing apprehension (if any) and LTO alarm (if any).

I find the License plate service very convenient for those seeking authenticity or matches on the plate number or any aprehension record of any vehicle you are about to purchase. For the license service, it's convenient for those hiring drivers to check the authenticity of the applicant's driver's license. No need to cue up in an LTO office anymore.

Just tried it now, it works. Make sure to text this only LTO LICENSE <license number> for license details and LTO VEHICLE <license plate number> and send to 2600. For example:

Text LTO VEHICLE ZBH334 then send to 2600.

hmmm. mukhang malaking tulong ito lalo na sa Tsikot classifieds, potential buyers can ask the sellers for the license plate number for verification muna, before making a face to face transaction

Not so good news for all. I tried verifying my Escape which I purchased from Ford Alabang June 2005. Lo and behold no records found!!!!! I called Asec's office in LTO and was told that yes , there are no records! I called the dealership that unfortunately, my LTO district which is FTI-Taguig is not much into uploading of heir files. Imagine , this was purchased 2005!!!! Grrrrrr. ...
Anyways, the LTO liaison of Ford Alabang got my plate and he will call LTO Taguig to upload my file. Selective? Yes, at the moment and this is reality

Inaasahan na malaki ang maibibigay na tulong ng bagong proyektong inilunsad ng pamunuan ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) para malutas ang kaso ng nangyayaring carnapping at naglipanang abusadong driver ng mga pampasaherong sasakyan.

Nabatid na ang paglu*lunsad ng 24-hour at 7-days a week na LTO online at text ng ahensya at ng information technology provider nitong Stradcom Corporation na panguna*hing layunin ay mapabilis din ang transaksyon sa nasabing ahensya maliban pa sa nasabing problema ng kriminalidad sa bansa.

Ipinaliwanag ni LTO chief Alberto Suansing na ang nasabing proyekto ng ahensya ay bilang tugon na rin sa dumaraming rekla*mong natatanggap nito laban sa mga abusadong drivers, partikular sa mga taxi drivers.

Sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng makabagong teknolohiya tulad ng internet at cell phones ay higit na mapapadali ang lahat ng transaksyon sa ahensya tulad ng pag-a-apply ng lisensya at pagpaparehistro ng sasakyan.

Sa pamamagitan umano nito ay maiiwasan din ang mga biktima ng mga nakalat na fixers sa iba’t ibang tanggapan ng LTO sa bansa kung saan sa pamamagitan lamang ng text ay maaari nang malaman ang tamang paraan ng pag-a-apply ng lisensya at rehistro.

Gayundin, sa pamamagitan ng internet ay madaling malalaman kung ang isang sasakyan ay “hot car” o carnap dahilan sa nakapaloob sa data bank ng LTO ang lahat ng nilalaman ng bawat sasakyan.

Sa pamamagitan ng pag-log in sa http://www.lto.gov.ph sa internet na magbibigay ng impormasyon sa proseso ng pagbabayad ng Motor Vehicle at Law Enforcement & Traffic Adjudication System certification.

Habang sa pamamagitan naman ng text o LTO HELP at i-send sa 2600 ay madaling malalaman ang proseso ng pagkuha ng lisensya at rehistrasyon ng sasakyan.



I-text lamang ang LTO VEHICLE at plate number ng sasakyan (halimbawa LTO VEHICLE URX361) at ipadala sa 2600. Makakatanggap kayo ng reply kung anong mo*delo ang sasakyan, kailan ito huling narehistro, at kung may pending bang kaso o alarma ito.
Sinubukan kong mag-text at wala pang limang segundo ay may reply na. P2.50 ang bayad dito kada text.

It does work.
I tried verifying my driver's license and my vehicle's plate number, it got the response after approx 10seconds. I'm still to verify my motorbike's plate number when I get home tonight.

Haven't tried my bike's plates yet but the info on my cars were very accurate. I tried to query the cars I previously owned and the info was right, even with my old RAV 4 which the dealer erroneously switched CRs with a Camry was corrected already (finally!)...

I tried verifying my ride's plate no. and i got a response after approx. 20 sec.
all the info on my ride were all correct. but re my license, i tried verifying it, and i got a "No record found", i guess another case of an agency which is not updated in uploading their files.

Malaking tulong ito sa ating mga mamamayan na nangangailangan ng serbisyo ng LTO, mabuhay po kayo Chairman Suansing!
