Literally drawing lang yan. Hanggang ngayon madami pang "informal settlers" kung saan dapat lalabas ang bagong kalsada beside Aura.

Prices are not really that low at SM. Those that work or live around Megamall must really hate it when it goes on 3 day sale.

    hmmm bakit may itlog??

    baka yun yung chapel?

    2 regular cinemas lang..

The development includes a multi-level green roof, which, apart from its environmental advantages, also provides a much needed green and communal space in Metro Manila’s dense cityscape. It will contain al fresco bars & restaurants, sculpture and botanical gardens, a 1,100- seat performance hall and a 250-seat chapel named after Filipino saint, Pedro Calungsod.

Aside from shops and F&B outlets, the mall will also include as its anchor tenants SM Department Store and SM Supermarket, Trade Hall, Foodcourt, two regular Cinemas, two Director’s Club facilities and an IMAX Theater.

Designed by Miami-based architectural firm, Arquitectonica, the structure will be a basic “dumbbell” arrangement determined by the narrow site, with the main entry at the north corner, and the office tower located at the southern end. The main vehicular drop-off is provided on the western side, with taxi stations on the first basement, accessed from the lower, eastern road.

On May 6 (Monday), government agency Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) CEO Arnel Casanova went at the site of SM Aura, a new shopping mall that is soon to open in an adjacent property leased from the Taguig City government.
Casanova arrived with heavily armed security men (see photos w/armalites even with the effectivity of the election gun ban) ordering SM contractors to stop construction on the sidewalk along McKinley Parkway.

Right after his inspection, a BCDA security officer went to the site and insisted that he received instruction to stop all construction along the road. The lady legal officer
representing SM was trying to reason with him but to no avail. Another person, the
contractor explained and showed the BCDA security officer that the property/access road had the necessary permit. In his futile effort, the BCDA security rudely insisted that SM should get a court order for it to continue construction.

A Taguig City government representative came to the scene together with Traffic
Management personnel and confirmed that the contractor's documents from the Taguig government are in order and has the permit to pave the road but these efforts were unheeded.

To further prove his point, BCDA security summoned two (2) trucks to park on the access road to disrupt construction When the Taguig police asked the driver to back off and give his license, the BCDA security officer said "wag mo ibibigay lisensya nyo, bumaba ka na dyan..." Then the driver walked away from the truck with the key in blatant disregard.

The truck is still parked there with its tires removed, manned by the BCDA security.

Until today, portion of McKinley Parkway is still unpaved and concrete barricades at the back are still seen, preventing access to the shopping center.

Is McKinley Parkway part of BGC or Taguig? Tagiug shouldn't expect much cooperation from BCDA since the land was donated to them in good faith to build the City Hall, not a Mall...

It's part of Bonifacio Civic Center, the lot was donated to the Taguig government.. kaso binenta sa SM.. kaya nakapasok ang SM.. kasama sa deal eh magkakaron nang Civic Center sa mall.. kaya walang nagawa ang BCDA.. so ngayon they're delaying the opening..

It's usually worth it. Last 3-day sale (1st May weekend), we were able to get a new ref with a 10% discount on top of the 20% discount, and I was able to buy a lot of work clothes and accessories at incredible prices. Yun nga lang, kailangan maaga ka. Mall opens at 9, and we were there at 8:45. By 9:30, the vicinity of Megamall was crawling. By 12nn, SM Dept. Store's aisles were all filled with people lining up in cashiers, literally snaking through all the available space.

    OT:

They can give you those discounts because the retail prices are so jacked up. I once bought a small room aircon from SM appliance, 10K no discounts. I forked up the money. A week later, I saw the SAME room aircon at Abensons selling for 8K ........... WTH. Never again!

I just came from the openning of the AURA mall. Traffic was horrendus!

Anyway, the EGG is a multipurpose arena, convention center. The chapel is the smaller cylinder beside the tall building end.

It was heavy because of the grand openning of the AURA mall. Many of the visitors were leaving at around 6pm onwards. That is basically the entire mall worth of people and cars leaving within three hours. That is why traffic was a nightmare in the area tonight. I was there since I attended the mall's openning. Gahhh!!!!
