So this Shaken law is not really a dealbreaker to why japs dispose cars very fast.

More like most japs don't know much about cars or be bothered to maintain them well

That's the main reason they just buy new when something breaks down.

Parang mga rich people here lang.

Buy new when the car is sirain na.
Not a good comparison naman yung rules ng Japan to the situation here. They have many local car companies, and that law is designed to benefit those companies by forcing the people to buy new cars.

Banning old cars in the Philippines has no benefit to the local economy, and people will say that it's anti-poor (which is true), and also against our own right to property. Might as well force people to sell their old watches, and renovate all the old homes.

oh tsikoteers, kahapon mga 4pm tumuloy ako riverbanks marikina. From erod-tomas-kamuning-kamias-anonas-aurora-marikina bridge.

Kung humaurot ako pwede mas maaga ako maybe 10 to 15minutes pero whats the rush.

I dont believe in the argument na papaano senior kung walang stop where you want kasi other countries may senior naman pero wala sila ganung concern kasi discplined naman sila.

Ang need naman na approach dun is improvement of accessibility sa sidewalks so it starts woth the clearing, then improving accessibility ramps of wheelchairs and propoer points to cross (no jaywalking)
Game over na.

Pero nakakainis lang yung construction management ng MRT7. Walang traffic management provided.

Ang antipoor for me yung iphase out yung jeepneys tsaka yung mga regulations na pahirap sa commuters at pedestrians.

Pangit kasi public transpo natin kaya albeit the traffic, people would rather drive and would even a get coding car.

Haha

Back then din, pumili din sila kung BRT or MRT3. They went with MRT3.

30kph is relatively "fast" if you are exclusively moving about in the city, sir. Question is, are you able to sustain this speed, say, for one full tank cycle or even more?

Better if you share with us your average speed, as indicated in you vehicle's MID, as I think this will give us a better picture of how fast or how slow you are really moving about in the city. Not this one time trip that anyone can be lucky to attain also.

I myself was able to travel from Mount Carmel (in Q.C.) to Glorietta (in Makati) last Saturday in 50 minutes tops. No rush, just chill driving. Route was Broadway -- M.Paterno -- Ortigas -- EDSA -- Ayala. Left the church at 4pm, arrived at the mall at 4:50pm.

City driving on average 1 tank is 12kmh-16kmh
Yun 16kmh, kay skyway stints at 100kmh na yun.

A lot of politicians back then have invested heavily on trucking business. They make sense

You nailed it sir -- we have the same experience. My reading actually says I average 11-12km/hour going around Metro Manila on one full tank. I really can't fathom someone averaging 30km/hour around this traffic infested city, day in and day out. Must be an exaggerated figure, IMO.

The latest MMDA record for the average speed along Edsa is 19.36 kph.

In the States, when the average travel speed plays around 60 kph along I-5, people would panic and would call it a very bad day.
