    actually,
they are nicest to... dare i say it...
    doctors.
    especially yung taga pgh.

when we were residents, i would give special treatment to patients of the Cloth, and in uniform.
once, consultant na ako, one such patient asked how much my PF was.
    "jollibee champ lang po."
pues! the workplace rank and file (anim lang naman) had a jollibee lunch the next day!

^^^ Doc do you know how many traffic violation tickets they issued to your colleagues for disregarding traffic signs?

According to a doctor friend of mine, 50. All of those happened infront of CGH, naglagay ng stoplight sa harap ng CGH, wala naman tumatawid dun. And they a set up a no contact apprehension camera, kaya yun mga doctors na regular ng CGH huli.

May diskarte ako jan pag city of manila. Kasi cctv na no contact daw ok so dumihan ko plate number para hindi mafine. Pati conduction sticker lagyan partial tape.

True qc at san juan pinakamatino traffic system/enforcers.

Sabi nya 1.5 million per month is not worth the traffic everyday. Panis!!!

    i wouldn't know.
we do not talk about it.
but thru the decades, i know of only two tickets given to two colleagues...
    law-abiding drivers siguro kami...
hey! i stop at pedestrian lane stoplights at 2 am in the morning.

    ... Heaven forbid...
    pasaway ang mga CGH doctors..?
    heh heh.

I wonder how will they police this. We have to see the implementing rules and regulations before we react to this ordinance.

Will they instruct LTO to inspect vehicles registered in Manila?
Or will they set-up check-points around Manila?

If I remember correctly, PMVIC has a 99db requirement. will Manila put this ordnance on top of the PMVIC guidelines?

Manila City wants ban on loud mufflers | Autoindustriya

Councilor Joel T. Villanueva announced that Ordinance No. 8154 has been approved on the third and final reading. Ordinance No. 8154 is officially titled an “Ordinance Regulating The Use of Modified Muffler / Exhaust Pipe and Similar Devices On All Types of Motor Vehicles Resulting to the Emission of Excessive, Loud & Unreasonable Noise in the City of Manila & Providing Penalties for Violation Thereof and For Other Purposes” or the “Anti-Muffler Ordinance” for short.

strictly speaking, rust-thru does not seem to qualify as a 'modification'.

    i am wondering,
what will be their definition of "excessive, loud, and unreasonable" noise?

Thats why I fear the overzealousness of those who lack a bit of intelligence. A concern will be those who have exotic cars with OEM exhaust systems. Tatanggalin ba nila yun?

    i read before,
this certain high end sports car manufacturer confesses that they take great pains in designing their mufflers, to make their cars sound good.

    i can see it now...
"kap, hindi yan modified. na-butas lang yan kanina nung dumaan ako sa mataas na hump at natamaan yung muffler..."

I can’t figure out why they have to confiscate it. Why not just give them a hefty fine? If you remove them, nothing will “muffle” the explosive engine noise.

if ever this gets approved, they should initially apply this to trikes and jeepneys. let's see what happens.
