Manila City ordinance banning loud exhausts has been signed into law | TopGear PH

Section 5 of Ordinance No. 8772 specifies the prohibited acts as follows: “It shall be unlawful for any person to use or operate a motor vehicle with [a] modified muffler that emits and produces noise levels beyond the national standard of 99dB taken at an engine speed of 2,000 to 2,500rpm.

Ah cool good that they specified the noise limit. Any genuine exhaust should be compliant with that.
And the enforcement is via something akin to Cali's Fix-It Tickets.

    i can't open the link.
i am supposing, the checking authorities are provided with the necessary equipment to measure those decibels on the road...

    errr,
papano yung maingay na tambuchos dahil kinalawang na't may butas na?

my recommendation is, to remove the word "modified" from the section 5 lyrics.
that way, rusted-out mufflers and factory mufflers that are still too loud, shall also be deemed illegal.

i also recommend that rusted-out tambuchos be given a bit more leniency, i.e., no penalty if it is fixed within 5 working days.
