MMDA: Marked gov't vehicles prohibited from Edsa busway starting Monday | Inquirer News

Will IACT and MMDA have the balls to stop entitled politicos and rich from passing the busway?

Citing the new memorandum released by the Department of Transportation, Artes said the use of the bus carousel will be limited to authorized passenger buses, emergency vehicles, and cars used to construct the lane, as well as vehicles of top-ranking government officials such as the President, Vice President, Senate President, House Speaker, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Not included in the definitive list are vehicles of Cabinet officials, senators, and congressmen bearing the protocol plates 6, 7, and 8.

Increasing fees won't deter and even threat of suspension of drivers license as we know a lot of people don't have legit drivers license or don't keep their drivers license updated. The LTO also just admitted over billions in lost revenue because people are not renewing their annual registrations fees so charging the vehicle won't be effective as well because people don't pay anyway. Govt should find a way to enforce like if you get caught with either a non current DL or Car Registration, vehicle gets impounded right away no need for 3 strikes your out.

Just a thought, rather than station the enforcers are the exits, why not put them at the entrance points of the bus lane so they only allow those authorized to use.

    by the same token,
did the death penalty deter criminals?

no penalty can swerve folks from the "it seemed like a good idea at the time" decision-making factor.

    heh heh.

Pag nahuli at walang license - impound agad un.

Increasing the penalty while still maintaining current vigilance would still have some deterrence imho.

But I don't agree with the suspension.

Pulis mobile cutting through 2 lanes just to enter the busway... regular lane wala naman traffic... Feeling entitled yung lespu.

    well,
    there's defensive driving,
    and there's right of way.

a driving instructor said, "you may be dead right, but you wouldn't want to be dead, right?"
don't drive as if you owned the place, even if you do own the place.

I was watching the news 24 oras weekend. May isang kotse labas pasok sa bus way and an MMDA in MC is trying to get it out of the bus way. Nangyari nasagi yung MMDA and tumama sa barrier yung kotse. DUI yung driver, pero the report says nagka areglo na yung lasing na driver and MMDA. Walang sinabi na hinuli because of DUI.

Isn't it automatic huli or may kaso kaagad? Bakit nauwi sa areglo? Kaya ba walang kwenta DUI sa tin dahil nauuwi sa areglo? Is DUI just traffic violation?

Ah ok. Thanks for the info.
