April 23rd, 2011 12:27 AM #1hi guys,
question lang. kasi yung friend kong babae nahuli before tapos ang kaso daw eh crossing double yellow lines. anong kaso po ba yun? kasi first time ko lang ma encounter din yan or first time ko lang narinig yun. and ang masama pa dun nung nangyari yung event sa friend ko, eh obstruction lang ung nilagay sa ticket. does it make sense na obstruction lang ang ilagay or nararapat ba yun?
siya nga pala, ang alam ko (ayon sa naka paskil dito na guide sa tsikot) na our license MAY NOT BE CONFISCATED at a traffic apprehension. the only time they can do so is if you are part of an accident, or it is your 3rd violation and you have not settled your fines yet.
does it also apply here? i think hindi pa naman siya nagkaka 3rd strike na offense.
need some help about this topic mga sir para ma guide ko naman maigi yung friend ko KUNG talagang mali yung ginawa sa kanya. salamat!

double yellow lane means both lanes CANNOT overtake anytime.

Solid double yellow lines at the left lane mean it is unsafe to pass. Never cross it to pass another vehicle. The line maybe crossed only to enter or leave a driveway or private road or to make a permitted "U" turn.

Sa provinces,- along the national highway,- mayroon ding mga yellow lines sa gitna ng kalye,- so bawal um-overtake. Pero, kung ang sinusundan mo naman ay super kupad na mga tricycles or padyak or kuliglig, na in the first place ay dapat wala roon sa national road,- o-overtake-an mo nga....

April 26th, 2011 01:48 PM #9double solid yellow lines means you may not overtake (the oncoming traffic also must not overtake). mali talaga yung friend mo.
about sa license alam ko pwede nila tingnan, kasi nga naman baka wala ka license added violation. pero yun di nila pwede kunin.. lalo na ng mga mmda..

Actually ganito talaga yan:
Yellow lines separate traffic traveling in opposite directions. A yellow line should always be on your left (except yung YELLOW LANE sa EDSA)
White lines separate traffic traveling in the same direction. White lines may also designate the shoulder portion of the road.
Broken yellow lines indicate that there is adequate sight distance available to permit passing. You must be sure that the lane into which you are moving is clear and that the pass can be completed safely.
Broken while lines indicate that lane changing is permitted.
Solid yellow lines, whether single or double, indicate that passing is not permitted.
A solid and broken yellow line indicates that passing is permitted in one direction. Passing is not permitted if the solid yellow line is on your side of the road.
Solid white lines indicate that lane changing is not permitted
