Okay Taguig Traffic Enforcer flagged me today. Beating the red light pero Yellow pa lang when I crossed the intersection (left turn) going to Market Market. Siguro nag red na while I'm at the middle.

Now they got my license...question is how much is the penalty for Reckless Driving? 1k din ba like sa MMDA/LTO? Sabi kasi sakin nung Taguig Enforcer di daw sya sure pero pwede daw ako humingi na "discount"...pede daw babaan yun makiusap lang daw ako pagtubos ko ng lisensya.

Hmmm...pede ba yun? Anyways, sana pede nga, gawin na lang 500 kung 1k man.

Dapat next time sabihin mo ipapa-adjudicate kita. Lagyan mo ng words na under protest yung ticket bago mo pirmahan. Tapos sabihin mo magkita na lang kayo sa judge.

Maganda sana kung may kakilala ka na may-ari ng isang driving school, alam na alam nila gagawin sa ganyang situation.

IMHO, i think the problem here is that yung transition from yellow to red light eh super bilis... back in the US, they use to have 7-10 seconds interval before mag red... that will give the driver enough time to estimate the right action (to stop or to cross the intersection)...

AFAIK, 2 seconds naman dito sa atin.

ok yung traffic light sa intersection ng captain javier and yung st.martin sa philsports sa pasig... kapag go, green na solid... then kapag malapit na magyellow, magbliblink yung green... dapat ganito na mga traffic light para alam natin kung magyeyellow light na... or kung hindi man, lagyan ng countdown timer parang yun dun sa intersection sa mckinley hill.

But the traffic enforcers wouldn't want that to happen, yes? How then could they make their quota?

Ang nakakaasar niyan,- ang sinusundan mong sasakyan na mabagal ang takbo at ayaw kang pa-overtake-in dahil nakaharang sa dalawang lanes ang sasakyan niya, makakalusot sa intersection dahil yellow na ang ilaw...

Ikaw naman, unang-una sa pila sa susunod na batch.....

Actually, best option is to slow down then stop when the yellow light comes on. But if you're traveling at a fairly high speed, konting malabo yun. Last time I did it, I was off my a few inches from the line. Hinuli naman ako for obstruction

Most annoying feeling parin yun: walang ibang kotse, ikaw lang and a stoplight na "green" but you think is going "yellow". Kung may ibang kotse, unahan! joke..

Obstruction? But you were not yet in the adjacent road right? Isn't that one of their made up rules like swerving? AFAIK a vehicle on a zebra stripe is not really a "ticketable" violation. Being inside the yellow box may be. Anyone care to clarify the matter?

As for the Yellow Light. It means stop if you can.

Green Light - Proceed
Yellow/Amber - Stop before the intersection if you can do so safely
Red - Do not cross intersection

These are based on international traffic laws.

If you can stop your car before the intersection without making a panic stop, then you should do so when the Yellow/Amber light goes on.

there's no such thing as beating the yellow light...unless the traffic enforcer programmed it for short period like say 2-4 secs...what do you call that??? unli here in the phils.:

Green = Go, Accelerate, Race Light

Yellow = Panic, Confused, Nervous Light - don't know to stop or go

Red = Stop, Brake, Stalled Light

and when the light turns Red (inabutan ka lang sa gitna) ang mga hinayupak na MMDA at TE eh parang Pitstop Crew - always ready to assist you to have your vehicle get on the side road for improper orientation on traffic rules (kasi sila mismo hindi nila alam yun) and indecent proposal (they will tell you hindi rin sa kanila galing ang request mo - palusot pa eh gusto din kunin )...
