Finally drove my new Fortuner home yesterday. I still have to get used to the size and feel of the Fortuner, coming from a Carens. It's definitely longer than the Carens and a bit wider. And, you sit higher off the ground so it feels different when you sit behind the wheel of the Fortuner as compared to the Carens.

Initial thoughts are - the ride is not as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it arguably feels like a car, albeit with stiffer suspension. I also still have to adjust the tire pressure though - the agent said that the vehicles while in storage and prior to delivery are over-inflated it at 34psi but once it's being regularly used, tire pressure should be in the range of 29 to 31psi only.

I love the interior of the Fortuner. It feels more luxurious than the Carens, especially with the all leather seats. Offhand, I think the Fortuner is roomier inside compared to the Carens.

Although I got the gas variant that did not come with GPS activation, I paid extra to have it activated (one of my new "toys" for this car). I'll play around with this feature eventually.

All in all, I'm very happy with my decision to go with the Fort!

Free labor for 1st 1,000 and 5,000 kms PMS. Provided you show them the warranty booklet so they can get the coupons inside.

Filter is less than P500. Drain plug gasket around Php25-40. Your choice of mineral or synthetic oil (price x 7 liters if diesel, 6 lit gas)

yup, free labor. tinatancha ko lang yung fully synthetic na oil kung ilan at magkano ang magagamit. i think fully synthetic yung recommended? well base un sa mga nababasa ko dati dito sa forums haha! so i think i'll go with the fully synthetic. anyways, thanks sa input sir.

Oil Filter around Php400 sa Casa. I suggest you change it with mineral oil and then after 5K tska mo na palitan ng FS oil if you want your oil to be FS if not then revert back to Mineral oil.

ano po ba ang pinagkaiba ng FS at mineral oil? which is better para sa diesel fort? (di ko na ginoogle para layman's term lang tayo, mas madali kasi intindihin pag mula sa experienced owners ang info)

Well, FS oil in layman's term, it usually last longer and your OCI would probably be 7-10K as compared to mineral oil which is 3-5K. I think that is the simplest explanation or rather illustration in layman's.

i guess i'll go with semi synthetic na lang with 5k OCI para playing safe at iwas sludge. in my opinion parang mas maganda yung 5k interval na oil change kesa sa 7-10k para sure walang sludge na maform. :D thanks sir retz!
