March 23rd, 2010 02:24 PM #1not sure if this was asked before but i need help on my Vios 1.5 A/T. car is bought feb 2007, properly maintained - i'm assuming it is since i follow the 1k, 5k, 10k and just recently 15k PMS. it's more than 3 years but mileage is still low ~16k
anyway, i computed for the fuel consumption and to my surprise, parang ang takaw sa gas.. my last computation is 8.9km/l.. this is for pure city driving, pasig-makati.. any tips or advise on what to do/check.. i know driving habit comes to play here but as far as i know , i have good driving habits naman.. before, it used to be 12-14km/l but now, it's way, way down, though may kasamang highway driving noon..
thanks in advance..

March 24th, 2010 11:13 AM #2Assuming that your car is in top condition, baka may extra weight kayo sa trunk na kinakarga. Baka din underinflated ang tires. Its also summer, mas mabilis mag evaporate ang fuel sa daan pati na din sa unshaded parking areas.

i dont think there's a problem.. normal lang yan.. i have an Avanza 1.5 a/t, i'm getting below 8kms per liter city driving.. as in bumper to bumper.. 14 kms, more than 1 hour drive one way traffic.. on E10 gas.

March 24th, 2010 03:15 PM #4i'll check the tires.. pretty sure it's not the load since i don't have any in my trunk, just the spare tire.. only passenger is my wife - to and from office..
i'm not comfortable with my pen type psi gauge, in fact, plan ko bumili ng iba to check the tire pressure.. any suggested brand/model? analog? digital?

March 24th, 2010 08:19 PM #6Kapag stop-and-go, FC of AT cars really take a hit.
A/T Civic FD namin 8-9KM/L City only driving (EDSA, etc).
I think the FC you're getting is normal. Try to take the car out of town to see if the FC changes.

That is not normal. Vios goes 11-13km/liter city driving with medium to balahura driving. Balahura = heavy ang foot sa pedal. Have it checked sa Toyota.
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
