My pal just got herself a 2012 Toyota Vios.

Now she wants one of the rear bumper reflectors to illuminate.

Do when need to buy a new one or just stuff a bulb in the stock reflector?

Costs for a new one (even Taiwan) would be appreciated.

Doc kung bulb lang kasi, it would be no stronger than the tail lights. So it's pretty useless, and more often than not itatap lang siya sa parklights which is pretty stupid looking, too.

Kung OEM rear fog naman doc, it would definitely be stronger and you would have the option to turn it on or off using a switch or replace the entire stalk as well. It would be also be a functional mod rather than an aesthetic mod since it would definitely help the drivers to see her car's ass better during heavy downpour.

I`ll try to look for Abnoy's contact number sa AEP then I'll post it here.

Hehe.

May switch sir pero hiwalay. Its a brand new car. Dont want to replace the column stalks agad. And kailangan naka on ang park and front fogs bago sumindi. Jemson knows the sequence already po.

Dont want the new car to be a money pit pagdating sa mods so trying to figure out if we can use the existing reflectors, may housing po ba ito sa likod?

Try niyo muna to see how much yung OEM na rear courtesy lamp; medyo mahina yung buga if you just put a bulb on the rear reflector glass (mas mahina sa park light) since i've seen some taxis do this. Try contacting si abnoy ng AEP as Renzo mentioned as he sells those EU stuff.

    Thank you.

DI ko kilala si Abnoy but i'm thinking of getting some Corolla badges from him. He sells EUDM parts (meron din pang-Vios).

Ok. I got the oem lens na. Lens po siya, hindi reflector. Pero shallow and baka matunaw with a full size bulb. We might try leds instead. Will post pics later.

I believe may ganito rin si sir Noy from AEP. Target ko rin ito in the future.

OEM Stalk Switch with Front and Rear Fog light switch.

*Pic borrowed from SirLeonoel of VCP

Just in case gusto magpalit ng stalk ng friend mo, Doc hehe.

Medyo mahal pa din daw para sa owner and ayaw niya palitan yung stalk since the car is only days old. So we'll try to have a bit of inexpensive fun muna. hehe.

Jemson removed the dummy rear lamp. Here it is:

Our evil plan is to crack it open with a heat gun (the lens is screwed and glued on to the gray backing with a hollow space inside). And probably add a bright LED flat sheet (or two) like so:

Then leave it running for hours on end to see if it's bright enough at night and if we have no lens melting issues. Keeping my fingers crossed muna. Inputs appreciated.

thanks otep for the update. We will be waiting for the outcome of your project

Still toying with the idea.

    Roy opens it up:

    Lens transparency:

Jemson's hand (and maybe we need two LED sheets?). I think having no reflective element inside the housing doesn't help also?:

    Wiring:

    Done for the day:

The car won't be available until next Saturday so we have a whole week to play around with the setup. I'm still waiting for it to get dark.

Nabigay ko kay Otep yung contact and he referred someone selling it. They'll try out this DIY project first.
