Typically 10-15 in traffic, maybe 20 or so on the highway, if it's a manual transmission car. Let's wait for the vios lovers on the boards come in with their real world results.

bro, dun ka pmunta sa www.viosclubphil.com and ask about vios.. mababait cla..
May balita na inubos ang 1.3 stocks ng isang major company as fleet cars and 1.5 lang daw available for now?
I also read that med reps consume lots of Vios also. Who can blame them? Nice design, economical, and most importantly, the low acquisition cost for a Toyota badged vehicle.
Meron bang aftermarket HID for VIOS? Kung meron, anong brand at how much?![]()
Not sure kung meron nang aftermarket na projector headlamps for the Vios. BTW, HIDs are meant to be used in projector headlamps NOT in a halogen headlamps including the "crystallized" headlamps.
If you want, you may fabricate one. Kakarne ka nga lang from exisiting headlamp assemblys, let say from the new Rav4 then integrate mo sa Vios headlamps by fabrication.
Sorry for the long post. Bad trip lang talaga yung mga ogag na naglalagay ng HIDs sa mga headlamps na pang-halogen! Sabog ang beam at higit sa lahat, NAKAKASILAW! ARGH! (sorry for the rant)
As of my experience.. my vios consume 1 liter every 20 km long distance driving.. while 15 km per liter city driving.. Im using 1.3E 2nd gen VIOS
Hanggang 9-10Km/L lang din ako for city driving, akyat panaog kasi d2 samin! Im using 1.3E 2nd gen VIOS!
Mga sir,
i'm also newbie to tsikot and i know that you guys here are willing to help me to sell my altis 1.8SE G matic 2000 model for me to buy the 2nd gen vios which is very fuel effecient.
Thanks a lot.
It really depends on your driving habits and daily route. If you're crawling in rush hour traffic every day and your trips are all very short (mga 5-10kms lang), then your consumption may be normal. Cars really drink more gas when the engine is cold (it takes about 3-4kms to warm up...) or if you're idling for a long time in traffic.

I have a 1.5MT city driving 12-14 kms/L kung pure hiway and long drive 16-18kms/L I use shell or petron blaze. fully synthetic engine oil. Inflate my tire to 30psi. medyo mabigat pa nga Vios ko I have a full setup sa trunk and backup battery. correct RPM shifting and dont hataw if not needed..
Space invader is correct Visit www.viosclubphil.com will help you a lot nice peeps there.![]()

Every morning while the engine is cold would suffice. But this is kind of OA. Still, better safe than sorry. You don't have to open up the radiator, just look at the coolant overflow bottle. Mark the level it's at in the morning (a pentel mark on the side of the bottle should suffice) and check it every morning after. It should stay the same, or if it gets lower, it should get lower slowly. If it loses a lot of coolant in one day, something might be wrong.
The coolant bottle will have a higher level when it's hot (like after an hour in traffic). You might want to mark that level, also. If the level is above that mark after a drive in traffic, your radiator cap may be worn out, or you may have other problems, like a slow radiator fan, etcetera.

As for oil, it should be full when the engine is cold. It will be lower when the engine is on, because the oil is circulating, and the oil only settles around five to ten minutes after you turn off the engine.
Drive slower over humps. Manila's potholes can wreck shock absorbers pretty quickly.
Well... the title is just "vios"... so...
As for economy... the brand new Vios is pretty amazing. 15 km/l with those bling-bling 17" wheels we tested it on... pretty good.
