Hi mga ka-vios! i just want to know your opinion regarding bike rack and crossbar. I'm planning to get a roof-mounted bike rack. however, natatakot lang ako na baka mag-iwan ng marking at yupi yung crossbar sa pagkakabitan ko. although i am borrowing my dad's MPV kapag may padyak ako 'pag weekends, ayoko kasing napagkakamalang pamilyado. natatakot din ako if the pillar na pagkakbitan ng crossbar can withstand the weight of my bike.

If I will pursue this, I'm planning to keep the crossbar mounted and I will just put the bike rack when needed. and lastly, takaw huli ba ito kapag nakakabit yung crossbar while traversing the metro, especially Makati?

BTW, ito lang yata yung crossbar na nagustuhan ko ang itsura (hindi ko alam na nasa loob pala yung may-ari nung kinukuhanan ko ng picture ) ....

P.S. Di po ako si OB. I can only afford a Vios as of the moment and di rin ako kasing pogi at macho niya :hysterical:

Walang yupi yan basta proper yung mounting. I've had crossbars for over a decade on our cars (lagay-tanggal pa yung iba pag hindi ginagamit) as we use this to carry our Thule roof box when we travel.

Thanks sir vinj. ano ba sir ang magandang brand? BnB kasi yung kadalasang nakikita ko. how about those generic crossbars? ok ba sila or pang porma lang talaga sila?

If you really plan to carry top loads, or you intend to keep it on 24/7 through heat, rain, etc. then better to go with a branded one (Thule, Yakima, etc.). We usually use Thule but i tried on my Altis the Travel Life brand and it was okay kung tanggal-lagay but i had problems adapting my Thule roof box and stuff (had to customize brackets to fit it). Next time i'll get another Thule crossbar if i need so, even a second hand one is fine as long as the locks and mounts work well and fit your car properly.

*wind drag, it's not much of an issue to my FC on the Altis if I drive between 80-110kph on the expressway with the roof carrier and Thule roof box on. Once i start pushing it beyond that, that's less 2km/L on my FC. Fastest i've gone with the top load was 165kph.

Lagyan mo ng wind fairing para less drag, hence, walang effect sa consumption. Usually Yakima nilalagay. I-jdm yo mo na rin yan haha

Thanks sir vinj for the input. mukhang mahal talaga yung mga branded na crossbar and bike rack. I think worth it naman yung investment since halos ka-presyo na ng 2nd hand na sedan yung ika-karga ko. i'll just narrow down my choices between BnB and Thule.

^i bought my Redline Water Wetter from Superior Motors before. It's behind the tractor stores... parang bahay lang yung frontage with a small sign and a grilled door. They also sell Wix filters.

Kung ibang wetter ang hinahanap mo... dun nalang kayo sa Q. Ave.

^Wala sa mga regular shops yung Redline products. The tuner shops usually carry them.

*CB, I assume you're talking about the Redline Water Wetter? kung yung Q. Ave Wetter, wala akong alam dyan.... panay kwento lang ang umaabot sa akin tungkol sa mga ganyang wetter  Can't tell the real deal effects since i just used it on a stock engine with no accurate gauge readings, with no track time. If it helps in heat transfer properties of the mix as advertised then i'm fine with that.

Yup, usually after Annapolis merge na ko sa right (yellow lane) ... kung traffic, kanan sa may VV soliven -- kaso dito di ako masyadong makahataw, max. siguro is 60kph, I'm afraid baka biglang may taong tumawid, daming naka-park eh -- kung hindi, gunnit until Caltex/Petron. Hehe.

I'm still wondering when will EDSA be free of traffic, regardless of the day/hour, from North 'til South, maybe never.
    Holy Week.

Nakaikot kami dati mula bahay, nag Moonleaf sa Esguerra, Cubao, Araneta Center area and back all in one hour. :bwahaha:

After nun, hanggang ngayon di pa naman nangyayari.

Mukhang starter nga pards. Pwede mo ipa-check sa electrical shop.

Recently pinagawa namin yung starter ng 2006 Camry... 2K+ kay Reys Electrical in Marikina (palit carbon and brushes). The car didnt want to start on me last Sunday night; pinukpok ng brother ko yung starter and it fired up.
