July 10th, 2009 10:31 AM #11so what does the S stand for? clearly, it isnt anywhere near sporty. not even remotely.... can it mean shortchange, or sucker, pertaining to potential gullible customers blinded by the T badge? just wondering...

The XX Limited Edition had the (outrageously expensive) iPod interface kit, and I don't think it's available for the Vios-S. 12k for a friggin iPod interface kit. For the same price, makakabili ka na ng iPod compatible head unit plus dash kit. Advantage lang of retaining the stock stereo is having the steering wheel audio controls.

Yeah kinda reminds me of the Altis S in the 9th generation Corolla except that S version for the Altis was not the most expensive unlike this one which is a total rip-off.

The Vios' HU is a built in integrated type. Although you can change it, after market HU couldn't come out as seamless (design-wise) as the factory one. 1.3E and 1.5G owners are out of luck. 1.3J owners can change the HU freely bec. Toyota just put a 1-din HU they probably got from the bargain basement or surplus stores.
Wow, Toyota had to deliberately remove the rear discs brakes from a regular 1.5G. They also did away with the steering audio controls? Sheesh...this is extreme cost cutting, just to fit in those mag wheels!
The Altis S is really hilarious. They took a regular 1.6J and fitted it with leather here and there. Put on a crappy wheel design on the same size of a regular 1.6J, add some body kits, etc.. and voila, Altis S. I noticed A1 driving school and some taxi operators bought these for their fleets.

[SIZE=3]Yes test, tama ka. There`s a probability, a big one that the said vios S will be a taxi also, yes it's kinda pricey but so what? If the operators can afford it, then go.
Anyways, BTT, I think the Vios XX is still " cooler " than the Vios S
Hmmm....if the Vios S will be out in the market for quite some time, then it wont be as limited as what the Vios XX is like.
