Toyota Set to Introduce Sporty Vios Variant: Vios 1.5 S
    Uploaded 07.06.2009

Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMPC) is set to introduce a sporty addition to its Vios line-up this July. The new Vios S is available in 1.5-liter fuel-efficient VVT-i engine. Exclusive sporty features for this grade include HID headlamps, 17” alloy wheels, rear spoiler, and a special “S” badge. The Vios S is offered at Php 805,000 for the automatic transmission and Php 770,000 for the manual transmission, and is available in youthful shades of thermalyte, black and blaze.

“The Vios is the country’s consistent best-selling vehicle with average sales of 900 units per month and is proudly made in Toyota’s Sta. Rosa manufacturing plant. Following the success of our limited edition 20th anniversary Vios model, the addition of this sporty variant is aimed to strengthen Toyota’s lead in the passenger car segment, targeting younger customers who are looking for an edgier character in their vehicle at an affordable price with optimum fuel economy,” expressed Raymond Rodriguez, TMPC’s First Vice President for Vehicle Sales. Hmmm just checked the specs. Why did they use DRUM brakes on the rear and omit the steering wheel audio controls?

Its like getting an E variant + the new body kits and mags.

Will they use the same mags and bodykit as the limited ed?

kung same ang itsura nito sa previous XX limited edition, sana man lang ay same pa rin features nito. dapat same spec pa rin sa G variant with rear disc brakes, steering wheel controls, power retract mirrors, etc.

to think na mas mahal pa ng 30k ang Vios S kesa previous Vios XX model, it deserves the features of the G variant.

Its actually a 1.5 li fitted with a new set of mags (different design from the Limited XX Edition).

Btw, body kits was a dealer option on the Limited XX Edition. Judging from the picture of the S, it will not come with any body kits but instead the kit would be a dealer option again.
