I use 225/40 R18 tires on my Altis:
You can choose 225/45 R18 but it'll be larger than stock, which increases your car's ride height and skews your speedo reading (but it's okay cuz stock speedo reading is too optimistic). You'll need to add lowering springs though especially if you'll go for aftermarket rims (as opposed to OEM look) since a huge wheel gap on fancy rims (like Vossen or ROH) looks odd.
For bodykits, Clifford makes really good kits at prices much lower than casa kits. For DRLs, garyq of HIDretrofit.net makes the best DRLs but are pricey. You can opt for cheaper plug and play DRLs in Banawe but of course they're not as good or durable.
Yes there's a group for Altis owners, it's called Altis Club Philippines. There's a Facebook group and a standalone website as well.

I agree, since my 18x8 rims stick out a bit on my 225 tires. However, 235/40 tires look noticeably taller than 225/40 tires. You won't be able to pull it off without lowering springs - unlike with 225/40, if your rims look OEM, you don't need to drop as it just looks stock.
Having your rims' minor scratches repainted is cheaper than buying lowering springs. But if you're going for lowering springs anyway, 235/40 is better. Do note that it's 2% bigger than stock, so speedometer readings are gonna be lower. That's for the better though, since the stock speedometer is 6% too optimistic (100 kph on the speedo is just 94 kph via GPS).
