Toyota Corolla 10th Generation Altis Owners [continued]

Guys,

Here's a bit of an odd request, perhaps.

How do you lift a Gen 10 Corolla?

Doing some research for my Mom. Who loves her Gen 9 to bits, and who has a Gen 10 but is having difficulty with the lower stance.

Medyo mababa kasi ang stance ng Gen 10, which is perfect IMO for bigger wheels and skinnier tires. Nga lang since it's my Mom's ride, we need the opposite of lowered.

Any ideas on how to increase the ride height? By about half an inch? Has anyone tried spacers perhaps?

We chose the Bridgestone Turanza for reduced noise and comfort. Huge difference from the stock Dunlops, specially in SLEX. A little expensive at P 6k+ each. Had to replace all 4 because we rotated tires so the wear was even on all 4, used it for 35k+ kms. First time to ride in the highway already made the purchase worth it!

I already replaced ball joints, stabilizer link, and the tie rod ends but the noise remains.. I can hear it from both sides. Then nowadays, I can already feel bump steers. For example in edsa,when I go over bumpy portions, the steering wheel veers left. What could be the culprit of this? I've done my research, and my suspects are sway bar bushings and control arm bushings.. Then maybe I might need good alignment. Any ideas??

Btw, I can notice from afar that my altis seems "lowered" on the driver side (maybe because most of the time, I drive alone and all the weight is on my side). How can I get this back to normal height? Replace coil springs?

my suspect? your front shocks and/or the rubber bushings/donuts, need replacement.

do the tread wear patterns suggest all four tires need be replaced? kuripot ako, and i will use all means to extend my usage of yon tires.. but i always replace worn tires, in pairs.
however, i am not sure just how many years for the rubber to turn brittle...

the ones atop the shocks..
but since you say they are only 2 years old...

when my CV rubber boot sprung a leak and i lost lubrication, i started hearing an intermittrent metal-to-metal toktok sound.. replacement of the boot and adding lubrication, solved the problem.

Guys, my corolla was hit by a branch during typhoon glenda. I am planning to bring it for repair through insurance claim. My question is, can I include other damges like mine has a scratch at the rear bumper and just pay one time participation fee? Have you encountered this dilemma before? I have a 5yr old 10th gen Altis, pero 24K km pa lang ang odo, dun sa service book nila 15months or 25K km ang next PMS from last PMS ko na 20K, pero nasa 15th month na ako ngayon and 24K pa lang Odo ko. Ok lang po ba yun 25K km ang sundin ko para sa PMS ko?

Next question ko, nun nagquote ako sa Casa kung ano gagawin, ang sabi yun usual lang na papalitan every PMS madagdag lang eh cleaning daw ng aircon, pero optional pa din daw yun, pwde daw sa 30K na lang. Since ok na ok pa naman ang aircon ko and hindi naman sya masyado nagagamit plan ko sa 30K na lang ang aircon, Ok lang po ba yun?

Question lang mga sir

Mayroon po ba sa inyo na nagkaproblema na sa rack and pinion or steering shaft? Pina-diagnose namin sa casa and kailangan daw palitan buo yung rack and pinion assembly and steering shaft assembly which will amount to 29.5k for the the assembly only and roughly 38k all-in-all including labor and other parts.

Meron ba sa banawe na nabibili/order ng mga assembly na yan and ok ba pagawa sa labas ng casa? Or since replacement ng buong assembly(rack and pinion assembly and steering shaft assembly), mas ok na sa casa na lang? Thanks in advance

i once had to replace my stickshift. i asked around in banawe... it turns out, they all buy these exotics from toyota casa. so, no choice..

Out of warranty na sir. Same observation sa ibang shop, kelangan palitan yung buong assembly. Will try to go to Toyorama sometime this week. Thanks for the input
