syempre it varies depende kung kailan nagshishift

primera ano rpm nag shift? segunda ano rpm? and so on

kung fifth gear ka na tapos 80 lang takbo mo parang maaga ka nagshishift

    syempre

kung nagrev ka till redline sa bawat gear syempre pag dating mo ng fifth gear mas mabilis speed mo compared to shifting early in each gear

I think that the OP is asking for input from other owners using the same engine with regards to what RPM reading their car is showing while cruising at 80kph in 5th gear.

It has nothing to do with shift points.

What would have an effect on the results would be if the clutch is slipping or if the tachometer and/or speedometer are not accurate.

    2700rpm for 80kph *5th gear?

wala akong rolla 2e, pero parang mataas yata yung 2700rpm even on other cars?

sounds like he's trying to accelerate at 5th gear

baket nasa 5th gear na pero 80 lang ang takbo?

    baka sa 1st gear hanggang 20-30 kph lang, 2nd gear 30-40, 3rd gear 40-50....

    fuel efficient mag drive

it's a manual trans, right? has nothing to do with shift points.
my diesel MT innova does 80 kph at a little over 2000 rpm.. 2100 or 2150 rpm, i think..
is it possible, your speedometer is not as accurate as before?

    My Haima7 does around 2400-2500RPM on 80KPH, 5th Gear.

personally, i am at 5th gear at 60 kph.

actually, he is asking why, at 5th gear and running at 80 kph, why his tachometer reads 2700 rpm.. i think he finds the rpm too much...

The manner on how or when he shifted is irrelevant. Whether he shifted from 1st to 5th or just started off in 5th gear and crawled his way up to 80kph, it would still read 2700RPM on his tach.

To the OP: If I did my homework right, the 2E is a 1.3-liter SOHC.Since it can only do a max. of about 80+HP, the gearing on the C150 transmission is most likely configured to let the engine run at higher RPM on the top gear to keep it a bit more responsive at the expense of a slower top-end.

On bigger engines, at least on a 1.8 liter that I know of. It can sit in 5th gear doing 80kph with the engine purring at 1700-1800RPM (if memory serves me).

if he wants lower rpm at 80 at 5th gear he should downshift to 4th rev to pick up speed then shift to 5th then he'll be able to maintain 80 at lower rev

For a car with this engine, I'd say this is relatively normal. The 2E only has 72bhp, so it will need more revs/effort to reach 80km/h. Same with our Revo diesel (86bhp) which, if I remember correctly, spins at 3000rpm at 80km/h. Gear ratios are also a factor here. A lower final gear ratio will likely result in a higher top speed at lower rpm.

If he wants lower rpms at high speed, easiest way is to increase engine power. More power means less effort to reach higher speeds. Bigger mags may also help, though at the expense of fuel efficiency.

i'm sorry, sir, but it's a manual trans. there's no way you can cheat the no-slip metal mehanical gears the way you manipulate ATs and CVTs.
at 5th gear and 80 kph, the rpm is etched in stone.

    bit ot:
sir OJ, on our late FD, 100kph at around 1800rpm. tried it before, and proven narin with other teamfd members.

in other words, our threadstarter is stuck with 2700 rpm..
ganito na lang.. get old style bias-ply tube tires. malaki diameter noon. you'll be doing 95 kph when your speedo is registering only 80. i tried it once.. it felt weird. it looked even weirder.. ..got rid of it within 2 weeks..
    heh heh.

Thanks for the confirmation. Nice to know that my estimation isn't all that too far off.
