It's relatively easy to replace the element. Buy the part from Toyota then you can ask a mechanic to replace it for you.

The Fort (at least the 2.5L) should be using a fuel element already. No idea on the Monty.

nag papalit na ako nang fuel filter kaso andun pa din ung warning lights nang fuel sabi ni pa reset na daw ako kasi 2012 model ung innova namin salamat ano kaya dapat gawin namin at san pedeng mag pareset na mas mura mahal kasi sa kasa , maraming salamat sa mag input san pedeng mag pa reset

This DIY is done after replacing the fuel filter and the fuel warning light stays on.

1. Remove the two (2) wiring harnesses on the fuel filter canister.
2. Get in the car and insert the key to the ignition. Turn the key to IGNITION ON (don't start/crank the engine).
3. Between 3 to 60 seconds, put back the wiring harnesses on the fuel filter canister.
4. Observe the fuel warning light to go OFF.

na-inis ako. pinalitan ko na lang yung buong fuel filter assembly. namatay din yung warning light... this was way back in 2006..
next time, susubukan ko itong tip ni Langabe.

The fuel system warning light flashes na po, pero no buzzer. And i already did the draining of fuel filter water. Pero bat ganun, amoy diesel naman po ung lumalabas hindi tubig? Kinakabahan ako fellow tsikoteers. What to do next po? Hindi ko pa po engine start kasi kinakabahan ako baka sumabog kasi amoy gas ung lumalabas. Sorry mejo magulo ung thread ko.

losses mo lng yung plug sa bottom of filter para lumabas kung me water then restart mo ok na.. just remember san gasoline station ka nagkarga fuel iwas ka muna dun..

The light stays on paps e, hindi sya nagbblink lang.

nangyari na din yan sa isuzu dmax ko pero drain lang mechanic yung bottom ng filter tapos nawala na actually naitakbo ko pa from naia to cavite wala naman problem.. same sayo hindi nagblink talagang pirmi lang yung warning light

the instructions are in the owner's manual, po.
i just followed it. it wasn't difficult, naman. just expect to dirty up your hands a bit.
the problem was, the warning light refused to go out, even after i replaced the filter.
perhaps if we follow langabe's tip above...
