Thought exercise ... if Toyota dealers / agents keep on mistreating buyers of the LC300 and J250 ... price gouging, not following SRP, inflated insurance premiums, required to buy accessories, you get moved down the list because some VIP outranked you, etc ...

Would it be a good idea to just buy a Land Rover Defender 110? ... price is almost the same or the Defender 110 will even come out cheaper after all the add-ons the Toyota dealer requires...

Cheapest Defender 110 is 6.23M ... not sure if this is a base model or how much price would go up if you add-on features to match the LC300 ...

If you're buying a 6M+ vehicle ... you'd expect to be treated well ... same logic as to why Jay Leno would never buy a Ferrari ...

Others would choose the patrol royale despite the outgoing platform if they want something cheaper. The land rover, while being fancy as ever, has quality issues.

haven't owned a defender but they do have a reputation for being unreliable. i'm sure they not *that* bad especially if you don't keep them for a long time

that prado 250 seems like a glorified fortuner w/ torsen center diff. doesn't interest me at all

i guess the defender is fine if you want more luxury but personally i'd go w/ a wrangler since this is all just a gedankenexperiment as einstein would call his thought experiments. i'd really rather have a Model Y awd plus jimny, rather than a prado

Yep, ang fugly ng j250 prado lalo na in the front. After merging lc and fjc styling cues into one, there's no executive appeal anymore unlike the j150 model.

Jeep also does not have a good reputation when it comes to reliability ... Yes, a Tesla Model Y and a Suzuki Jimny would be a good pair ... Would be nice if they sold the Toyota 4runner here ...

Was never a fan of the 4runner. It looks like a Hilux with a shell over its bed (which was how it started).

Among the choices, I would think that the LC is still the best. It might still be worth your time to jump through all the hoops to get it, idk. Anyway, hypothetical lang naman.

Mukha nga maming gremlins ang Defender 110. It has bumper-to-bumper tech and so, it's a driver's paradise when everything is working. But it also means that there are more possible points of failure. That seems to be the gist in a lot of the reviews.

The LC300 is so underwhelming in everything except its nametag.

It's been four years now since it launched and it's a bit common now for something relative to its price. Also, while it has modern bells and whistles or what more, the design is nothing home to write about. But its size and nameplate still make it imposing on the roads tho.

Another alternative would be the new bronco, since the jeep looks rather agricultural. Very impressive to look at inside and out but it's a ford and only has 5-seats (if that's a factor).
