Lancer GLXI or Corolla GLi

Mga sir, total newbie po ako, planning to buy my first car either 93-97 Lancer GLXI or Corolla GLi. Ano po ba ang mas ok sa dalawa considering 2nd hand, ano ang mas mura sa maintenance (spare parts, service etc.)? Gusto ko sana matic kasi meron ng manual yung gf ko & mag trade kami kapag coding nya. salamat!!!

Sir para po sakin mas ok yung AE101 GLi.

Tibay po nito, meron kami dati AE101 13 years na samin, minimal yung sira. Ganda pa po ng makina, ok panghataw pero tipid parin sa gas (8 km/l city)

Maluwag din po to sa loob, kahit anim pa kasya. Mura din po parts nito kasi madami (taxi drivers can attest to this).

Kung AT po kukunin niyo expect niyo lang po na higher maintenance cost kaysa MT kasi mas mahal palitan parts ng AT, tapos mas malakas din yun sa gas.

Wala pong 93-97 Lancer na isang model lang. Meron po 92-96 na Lancer, yung egg type po. Tapos 96-2001 na pizza-pie type. Yung pizza pie madami daw kalampag issues. Yung egg po wala ko masyado info.

Anyway, whatever the case, mas magandang second hand car po talaga yung Corolla.

the lancers (itlog and pizza pie) have lots of idling problem issues due their design ( like their MAP/MAF sensors, and the problematic servo). The AE101 or big body corolla has lesser problems than the lancer. Except for the idling problem of the lancer, both are good secondhand buys if well maintained by the seller. BTW the corolla GLi is DOHC while the itlog GLXi is SOHC.....

No brainer... Corolla GLi. Considered to be an "over engineered" model by Toyota, this would have brand new and surplus parts virtually everywhere. When the supply is high, prices are likely to be very competitive.

Best you get a 96-97 model.

Thanks mga tsikoteers! last na lang mga sir. how much ang proce range ng 96-97 gli? yung mga naka post kasi online parang ang taas ng presyo or dahil buy & sell yung iba?

Buy and sell iyong iba subukan mong tawaran kaya mataas ang presyo.
