Help!!! Rust under the hood

My car is Avanza G Automatic. I think DIY is out of the question since my knowledge on car, paints, wiring is close to nil. Baka po lalo lang madamage.

My DIY actions when it comes to Vanzie is limited to dusting lang po pag dating sa engine. I don't even know how to check the oil level. As in set to drive, step on brake or gas lang po talaga kaya ng powers ko.

Wala po ako pinakikialaman anything puro casa lang po. My suspicion is my parking space at the office kasi pa incline po.

Initially, I noticed sa bandang top (under the yellow handle) yung white powder wala naman duon sa mga takip na bilog. So I think hindi doon nanggaling yung leak. Napansin ko lang po may mga paint na parang nag bubbles then last week when I wiped the dust off the engine pinunasan ko yung mga parts na may bubbles tapos ayun I discovered the rusts beneath the paint. I removed yung paint sa ibang area na may bubbles din then I applied petroleum jelly (that's all I got at home) --- I thought it would prevent the rust from getting worst!!!
if you think 1-2k is too much, pwede bang tumawad sa casa?

nagulat nga po ako bakit ang quote sa price ay may range pa? hindi ba pwedeng 1230.00 period

yung isang kasa one day iiwan si vanzie yung isa naman 2 days!!!!

Ano pa po ang dapat kong ipa-check pa sa kasa na maaring naapektuhan ng acid?

Sirs good news po!!!

I went to Toyota Balintawak (Mon.) this morning bec. I noticed na may mga white powder na naman ulit sa ilalim nung yellow handle. The S.A. told me na delikado na itakbo baka tumirik na lang daw si Vanzie (Automatic pa naman) and to my surprise he told me he would replace the battery since it's still under warranty!

He replaced it with an OUTLAST maintenance free battery na! I will go to TYT SM North to talk to the warranty officer if they can repair the rust/paint the affected area since yung painting daw sa SM North talaga ginagawa.

Ilang beses ko din pinasilip si Vanzie sa iba't ibang S.A. sa same branch ....ok naman daw ang water level but only yung S.A. na nakausap ko kanina yung nag decide to have it replaced.

Thanks sa mga advice ninyo! Kung hindi i-cocover ng warranty ang painting sabi ng S.A. i-paint over ko na lang daw wala naman ma vovoid na warranty.

I will start reading on DIY rust removal/painting and go around the shops to check the prices and availability nung mga products recommended ninyo.

Maraming salamat po ulit sa mga advice....

Good news they replaced it with a MF type. as I’ve seen under your name, avanza 1.5G! kaya medyo natanung ko if that’s the stock batt.

But IMO, they should be the one to shoulder the re-paintings.

kung talagang ayaw i-honor yung repainting, then have it done outside kahit sa mga backyard body and paint shop di ka naman siguro sisingilin ng mahigit sa P500 nyan. Just be sure they treat the rust and have it painted with epoxy primer before putting the top coats.

Thumbs up talaga ako dito sa TYT Balintawak at swerte din ako dun sa SA na nag-entertain sa akin. Wala ng arguments or anything decide kagad siya!

OK sa service imagine pati nga po ice tea/coffee ise-serve pa sa customer lounge. Hindi tulad sa TYT Pasong Tamo may stub pa.....kape na lang yon ha! Saka OK talaga yung SA, every now and then binabalikan nya ako to update me sa status ni Vanzie despite the fact na super busy sila sa casa today. Magalang lahat ng staff at hindi intimidating.

Hay naku late this afternoon na ako tinawagan nung aking ahente samantalang LUNES pa nya promise to get in touch with me. Ang sabi eh pinapadala daw sa TYT PT si Vanzie para "I ASSESS" kasi hindi daw covered ang rust due to batt fluid spill....sabi ko na lang sa kanya pinalitan na ng Balintawak!!! Nicely pa rin naman po!!!! I told him since the batt was replaced I assumed the SA was convinced that the batt was defective kaya dapat lang pati painting sagutin din ng warranty....

Pati mga guards super mababait sila. kahit na po 1 oras kami para ayusin ang parking ko smile pa rin sila!

AFAIK, GS battery di maganda, di sya tropicalized. Suggestion lang sa mga naka A/T replace nyo na agad after 1 yr.

Mayroon hiwalay na warranty ang battery from the car. 3 years or 100K which ever comes first.

Kung mag luluko, e di mayroon brand new na battery. :D

Sir Armin (kapitbahay!) ...thanks talaga sa pag encourage mo sa akin to post my problem.

My SA is Mike Manzano...he is definitely an angel!!!

Sana ganon lahat yung mga SA, hindi mo na kailangan makipag-away or maki-usap or beg....in two to three sentences ayos na agad usapan. Super shock ako kasi sinabihan na nya agad ako na ayusin na kagad kasi baka mag stall si Vanzie. Hiningi lang warranty card ko, pinatingnan sa mechanic yung batt then Mike said for replacement.

Parang panaginip nga lang!!! Bukas sisilipin ko ulit yung battery baka nga panaginip lang ito....hehehe.....naka tatlong silip na nga ako eh kanina sa office.
