October 2nd, 2008 06:38 PM #91Hi to all innova BLACK smoke belchers,
My husband and I had read this thread from start til the end. For we need information about the same problem. We just recently bought our INNOVA G 2.5 DSL A/T last Aug 28, 2008 at Toyota Otis. And in less than a month, with almost 700km odo, we experience the great black smoke. To our surprise, a brand new car emitting smoke that black is not good. We will bring the car tomorrow to Otis for evaluation.
We called the service manager already about the smoke and advised us to accelerate to 3000rpm to release smoke unfortunately after doing so, it did not work. We are alarmed by this situation for we are not really knowledgeable about cars and we did not test drive the car. But through this thread, we've learned a lot and blessing in disguise, ampy and barnaby's cars were purchased from Otis.
We do not want to come to a point where we will experience all the replacements they had done to repair your cars but I guess we have to go through it for us to be included in the lemon law.
If you could only initiate seeking the help of the media like IMBESTIGADOR. I believe that more people like us will come out and voice out the same concern. As for now, as much as we would like to be a part of your complaint to DTI, we believe that we are not yet eligible to complain for we have not experience any repairs yet.
We hope that you will pursue seeking help to the media to help also your fellow innova owners like us who have or may experience the same problems.
We had saved your cellphone numbers, will keep in touch and continue reading this thread for any developments.
Thanks so much and God bless.

if you are planning to bring the media in, a protest motorcade would also help them decide fast in replacing your units.

October 4th, 2008 08:24 PM #95toyota people are not transparent in dealing with this problem. what they are saying is konting lang tyo percentage wise. but the fact na mern ganito dapat gawan nila nang paraan . pero pinatatagal lang nila we.ve been dealing about this problem for almost a month now ang sabi nila top prioritty daw ito pero wala pa din silang sagot so much for tha top priority. what they gonna do is change the parts they suspect is tha cause ot the problem pag walang nangyari palit ulit nang iba.i dont like the idea of them disecting my new car .dapat kuha sila sarili nilang saskyan ,then they can disect it all they want as long as they can give us the main cause of the black smoke. mine started wala pa din 1000 sa odo .

October 4th, 2008 09:26 PM #96Sirs,
Basta kapit-kapit lang po tayo. Makakahanap din tayo ng solution dito. I'll let you know of what we've been doing, I just cannot disclose it now.
Yung mga pwede pong maggrupo-grupo, make a synchronised attack.
Basta, we'll go through this!
Salute.

October 5th, 2008 10:20 PM #97Jinky and to our Fellow smoke Belcher at pati na rin sa hindi
Your ride is the latest and the most recently bought among all that i met. pero pare pareho tayong around 700 km palang at umuusok na. Well good thing you were able to read our thread and hopefully lahat tayo ma-solutionan. Most likely they will also do the same procedure kagaya nila Ampy at barnaby (si barny purple na purple yan pag nagalit...hahaha). another good thing also is that puro otis kayo...kawawang dong. Do you mean that you wont be included sa lemon law because wala pang napapalitan sa unit mo? well if ever they dont do anything sa unit mo, they will most likely delay repairing your unit coz rumor has it that the Oxygen Catalyst will be here 3rd week of Oct so TMP might be wise enough not to touch anything sa unit mo basing it sa mga ginawa saamin. The only advantage that i can see is that they wont make your unit a guinea pig kagaya nung saamin and if they really pinpointed the problem then good for all innova buyers after. TMP now can make the necessary adjustements to the design pero sad to say at the expense of others
Sana nga kung ano yung pinagpaguran namen e at the end we will be rewarded. So much time and effort wasted and muntik muntik na bababangga kakatingin sa rear view mirror kung mausok unit mo....
Ive also joined the Innova yahoo groups to find some answers from their group pero after posting there e madami ng nagrerespond na may problem na ganito... and some of them are getting aware na. They are trying to rev their unit to check if they have similar problem. Guess what.... ganun din problem....
Imbestgador at Sasaksi... talaga kayong dalawa e ang galing niyong magisip ng logged in name....sana nga may way tayong mapa media ito at baka bumilis bilis and decision...
Dedeypi....tama ka at mag kaisa lang tayo...hope ok na kalbaryo mo.
For know, waiting muna... ill keep you posted
Happy Smoke Belching to everyone muna!
God Bless!

October 7th, 2008 08:04 PM #99hi,
I am from india and own a toyota innova d4d 2.4L, I have been experiencing Black smoke from the exhaust right from when i completed 5000 KMS.. The delaer blames it on dirty or adultrated Diesel but i doubt it, i have been filling diesel from various petrol bunks, over a long period of time ,one other thing is not to use hi-speed diesel i've been using NORMAL diesel.
So i went back to the dealership requesting them to do something abt it.. here are the list of procedures carried out under warranty till date.. i've been having this problem for over a year now..
1) after notifing them abt the problem the first thing they did was to clean the injectors.. after a 1000 kms the problem reappeared.
2. After cleaning the injectors they Re-mapped the ECM. but again the problem reappered.
3. After following the two steps above they changed the catalytic converter and recleaned the injectors.
4. After abt 2000 - 3000 kms the problem has reappered.
5. Currently they are trying to change the Catalytic Converter yet again ( Second Time) and have requested the car for 2 days to enable them to take it for a long Test drive.
I'm still waiting for the car as it may take a couple of days.. while searching on the internet i came across this forum & learnt a lotta ppl like me are having same problems with the D-4D. The dealers seem pretty puzzled as to how to proceed further in my case after writing to Toyota i have managed to get thier attn on this case and they are monitoring my car.
By chaging the catalyic converter now for the second time i belive may not solve the problem.. it seems like it will reappear like the last time.. i think there is a problem with the Fuel pump and injectors ..
Any Person whose technically sound can shed some light on to this will be of great help ..
